Ahead 3-0 versus Caps in the early third, but about to defend a power play.
Now 3-1
Percy : 11/20/2019 10:16 pm : link
Hard to actually beat the Caps. Panarin having a great night and Lundqvist has been sharp.
Houton!
Percy : 11/20/2019 10:27 pm : link
Scores to put them up 3 again with about six minutes left.
Tuned in mid 3rd period
mfsd : 11/20/2019 10:29 pm : link
but the way the Rangers are forechecking you would think they were down 4-1 late

PS Ovie sucks
Panarin is such an incredible player.
BrettNYG10 : 11/20/2019 10:30 pm : link
Really exciting.

Him and Barzal have comparable styles of play to me.
Damn that was a serious fight
mfsd : 11/20/2019 10:32 pm : link
Lemieux had his hands full, but got some big blows in too
Props to Quinn
Jay in Toronto : 11/20/2019 10:32 pm : link
For his work with Buch and D'Angelo.

He reminds me of Parcells in his effective button pushing.
We have the best Lemieux to ever play hockey.

He is. Don't follow the Isles and so don't know much about Barzal.
Nice unexpected win

impressive work holding the Caps to one goal, for sure.
Caps hit a ton of iron...
rnargi : 11/20/2019 10:39 pm : link
...but frankly the Rangers outplayed them. Fun game to watch
Good Win!
Percy : 11/20/2019 10:40 pm : link
Usually when I watch Caps games they steal it in the last minute with an Ovechkin shot. Not this time.
You know as the YOUNGEST team in the entire NHL
Giantz_comeback : 11/20/2019 10:53 pm : link
They have some chemistry quickly developing. That is very encouraging.

And this is without one of their top players who was playing out of his mind before he got hurt in Mika.

How good will this team be when Mika comes back? 3 lines deep?

Coaching as opposed to Knicks and Giants seem to be promising.

They’ve been better without him than they were with him. Obviously that’s not Mika’s fault. Just saying - with or without him, this is a young team that will end up and down all year. Caps hit four posts tonight and played without two top players. Let’s take a deep breath.

It would be nice to kick some Ottawa and Montreal ass this weekend though since I’m bothering to trek up there

Sure was nice to see a young, promising team we root for kick the shit out of a front runner for once, huh? It's been awhile! ;>)
Really impressive win last night
ShockNRoll : 11/21/2019 8:23 am : link
Rangers got a couple breaks on posts and again did not have a lot of puck possession, but took advantage of their opportunities and their skill players did what they needed to. Panarin is, in my opinion, the clear cut best player the Rangers have had since Jagr. I can go on and on with superlatives and bold statements about this team, but it truly is amazing how much young potentially elite talent this team has on the current roster, not to mention in their system.

Now they need to take some revenge on Ottawa, an inferior team who embarrassed them on home ice a few weeks ago, and then go into Montreal and get a win against a hurting and struggling Canadiens team (not to mention that I'll be driving up to Montreal from CT this weekend for the game).
Nice Shock-

ShockNRoll : 11/21/2019 9:17 am : link
My first time in the club seats. Looking forward to stuffing my face all night. We go up to Canada every year for a game. Ottawa once and this will be the third time in Montreal. So far, my son has been to 4 Ranger games (one at the Garden last year), and we are 0-4. Between that and his record of 1-4 going to Giants games, the poor kid is going to think his teams are never going to win!
Really nice win
Anakim : 11/21/2019 10:31 am : link
And Panarin is absolutely shining. We haven't had someone with that lethal of a shot since Gaborik.

When I was a kid, the Yankees lost the first six times I went to see them.
And Greg's turned into such a happy, well-adjusted person.

Early losing helps a lot.
Panarin
Oskie : 11/21/2019 12:07 pm : link
Is just in a different class, he's soooo good. While I thought the team played well, and I do agree, they've gelled without Mika (looking forward to him coming back), I thought Howden really played well (and got rocked a few times) and Chytil continues to play well as does Kakko. The King was outstanding in the net, and we got a few breaks, as others have said, 4 posts.

This corner forum needs a "haha" or "thumbs up" icon on posts - this was well played by the young nerd.

Thats great - we'll be there stuffing our faces too in our Rangers jerseys (I'm Nash - I'm too cheap to replace just yet - and my son is Mika). Seemed liked a decent enough deal... at the blue line for $160 USD per ticket with fees and all you can eat. Usually have to pay more than that for mediocre seats at MSG and no food...
I know I'm going to Jinx him so I won't mention his name
arniefez : 11/21/2019 2:43 pm : link
but #24 does things every game that are so skilled, little things, that i've rarely seen from a Ranger and he's 18?
Future is bright
Torrag : 11/21/2019 3:46 pm : link
We'll have to live with the consistency issues a young team has to go through. Especially defensively as they learn what it takes night in and out to win in this league. They are trying and they have the right coach so it's just a matter of time.

Posts aren't goals as far as I know and is Mika not a top player for us? What's this bullshit? No one's saying we're winning the cup but why the fuck do all you miserable people constantly find the need to rain on everyone's parade every win? Holy shit, the Giants give us absolutely nothing and you can't even enjoy a Rangers' 4-1 win (notice not a 5-4 loss, posts aren't goals) against arguably the best team in the league? Why are you even watching sports?
Sorry I can't get over this
BestFeature : 11/21/2019 8:57 pm : link
But you'd think the Giants' struggles this year would make people appreciate a rebuild that looks to be going very well and wins as the youngest team in the league against the best team in the league two years removed from a cup. Instead, we get hair-splitting about posts and injuries. I know the Caps had Backstrom out, but who is this other top player. BTW, Mika was having a better season than Backstrom who has had pedestrian numbers playing for a far better team.
Rangers back to their bread and butter
