Being out on the field and playing the game but also relieved that he’s out of the spotlight. Either way he seems to enjoy life outside the game win or lose
I was the #1 overall pick and a two time Superbowl MVP, and I am ending my career with a .500 record and holding a clipboard while the team is a laughingstock.
have been more aware of my rapidly declining skill set and retired several years ago before my legacy was in question,
however,
I am sleeping every night on a giant pile of money next to a pretty wife.
His legacy is not in question, but thanks for being a negative human being. Eli will be in the HOF. He has two Super Bowl MVP's. His 2nd coach cannot even get a job in the NFL as an assistant and his 3rd coach is so bad, he is making people question Saquan Barkley's skill set.
Eli is probably excited for the season to end so he can make his choices about his future.
He's not going to be a Giant after this season. He's going to be asked over and over after his stint is done here how he coped with this season. I don't think he's going to be all telling, but we'll know how he felt.
I do hope that he will provide some unvarnished truth to Gettleman and Mara about Shurmur & Co.
I understand why that might be hard for DJ and others who are still part of the future, but with Eli leaving (and having the credibility he has), he should be able to provide some real honest assessment re: this staff and what they should do going forward.
This fan vase used to get pissed at me for losing playoff games. Now they haven’t won in 2 months and the coach keeps saying the players are improving.
I hope he gets another shot next year. I think he can still play in the right situation.

I wasn't being negative. I also think Eli will be in the HOF, but to think his legacy won't be questioned is nuts. People are doing it now. He will finish his career at .500 with 241 interceptions.
It will be very interesting to see if he exposes some of the inner turmoil of the organization though. Its not his way, but boy would I love it.
I think he knew the team had a lot of issues the past seven years so I don't think he is happy they still stink. Knowledgeable football people knew the problems were much deeper than him. Everyone should know now is was not him nor was it TC.
I think it kills him that the franchise is on such hard times. Eli is a Giant through and through imo and wants a better future for the organization.
That said, he is probably relieved he is not constantly in the news, TV that he is washed up.
Probably thinking "at least it proves it wasn't just me". Â
Upset about paying Eli? The guy helped deliver two SB Championships, and some of the greatest games ever by a Giant QB during the two playoff runs, with teams that hardly had the best talent both years.
You think the Browns fans would be upset if they got a QB with 2 magic runs in him? The Jets fans? The Bengals fans? You want to trade Eli's career with Philip Rivers?
Trust me, the SD fans would be HAPPY to pay the guy, and I'll bet Eli would have gotten more than 2 rings in San Diego. You really think Rivers would have done that here, trying to run Gilbride's offense vs Norm Turner's??
Yes, a lot of Eli's career was disappointing, but that had more to do with the failure of the Front Office to provide proper coaching and talent for most of it.
Carry on, though, with throwing crap on one of the classiest people ever to put on the uniform. Guys like Simms and Eli come around once a generation to teams like the Giants, if at all. Makes you wonder why anyone would come to this franchise willingly, other than cash.
There are guys in the NFL who are pretty much only in it for the paycheck. Does anyone really believe that Eli Manning is one of those guys? He comes from money; he's made a fortune of his own. Does anybody believe he's gloating over easy paychecks?
More likely he's feeling a combination of humiliation for being benched, humiliation for the disaster of the last couple of years, embarrassment for the organization, frustration at not being able to play and compete and empathy for Jones, who's got a tough road ahead.
Eli has to also know that the coaching is a problem, and is not going to talk about that.
2 or 3? What purpose does that serve? I could see the last game, but even then, do you really think they're going to risk letting his regular season W/L record slip below .500?
But 2 or 3? Some of this shit borders on fetishist.

and Jints Central should listen to him.

I loved rooting for Eli, but haven’t missed him this season for 1 sec. this team at this stage did not need a 38 year old quarterback.
"Could have been better."

I also think that Eli is going to try to play elsewhere next year. Where, i dont know, but i dont think that he thinks he's done.

Oh that's not true - you didn't want this at all.

That said I think he is disappointed his career did not have a better ending to it. Finishing it on the bench has got to be a disappointment
^This.
no pain.
good paycheck.
hmmm... life as a back up isn't so bad, after all.
