NYG Postgame (vs. Packers) Transcripts: LB Alec Ogletree -- December 1, 2019

[…] obviously losing is not fun for anybody, but you know we’ve got an opportunity this upcoming week to try and get a win, so that’s what we’ll try to put our focus towards in the next few days.

Q: How do you make sure the effort is there down the stretch and how do you make sure this doesn’t completely snowball?
A: Like I said, you’ve got to love football. If you don’t love this game, it will eat you up. I think we’ve got guys who love football, just haven’t found a way to finish games and win games yet, and you’ve just got to keep pushing forward.

Q: Coach Shurmur keeps talking about progress, that he sees you guys making progress, but it’s not really showing up on Sunday. Any thoughts on why?
A: Why?

Q: Why that progress that he sees isn’t really showing up on game days?
A: Uh, I mean I don’t really know if… I guess it’s because of how you look at it, like if we mess up something last week and we fix it this week, that’s progress, but I mean obviously we haven’t won the games that we think we should have won or whatever, but you know we’ve just got to keep going.

Q: Do you see progress? I mean Coach keeps saying he sees it behind the scenes, but what do you see on defense that makes you think you guys are moving in the right direction?
A: Well, I mean we’ve got a lot of guys to play and guys are starting to understand a little bit more of what to do. You know obviously we have some mistakes that hurt us and we’ve just got to keep going, so we’ll see how it goes.

Q: How much of a factor was the weather today?
A: It was actually my first snow game. I actually enjoyed it, so you know I thought it was going to be worse than what it was. It was actually pretty cool.

Q: Do you think the Packers have an advantage with weather like this?
A: I don’t know. Obviously they play in snow as well, so maybe it felt at home, maybe it didn’t. So I don’t know, ask them.

Q: When you look at [Aaron] Rodgers, what do you see?
A: Just a true competitor. A guy that can do it all. He obviously is going to be wearing a gold jacket when he gets done playing and he’s still one of my favorite quarterbacks in the league and you know he just goes out there and does his job and gets the guys around him going, too.

Q: Besides the snow, were you surprised by how the crowd made the Packers probably feel a little bit at home?
A: No, I knew they travel pretty well, so I mean obviously you know when you go up they definitely make themselves known and you know, so I definitely kind of expected that.
I’m glad you enjoyed it Alec

We all enjoyed watching you play in the snow too
How sad is it when a player kind of expects the home field

to be in favor of the opposing team?

And that's the Giants home field, not FedEx.
