Along with a rock solid OL class...Gettleman attacks the living hell out of the Secondary during the draft. I didn't like the feel from it from the draft and it's just resonating more now.
Not to mention trading up for Baker with a 4th and a 5th along with losing a 3rd in the Supplemental for Beal. Soo much invested into this secondary were praying pans out.
About the young secondary. I expected a lot of growing pains, but Bakers effort, Beals injuries, and Ballentines concussions have me very worried. I pray we get a good secondary coach and d coordinator and have these guys start over
Some rookie things here and there, but a tough player who seems to have enough coverage ability to stick at safety. Hopefully he continues to develop and starts next to Peppers next year.
Beal is harder to judge. One of the touchdowns to Adams looked like it was on him, but it also may have been quarters coverage and he was expecting him to getpicked up by the safety in the middle of the zone (Bethea). Good news is we didn’t see a situation where he was continually toasted.
