So DJ was injured and Shurmur KEPT him in a meaningless game

Anakim : 12/1/2019 5:59 pm
I'm sorry, but what the hell? I mean maybe it wasn't severe or debilitating, but the fact that Daniel Jones had a "noticeable limp" leads me to believe it was more serious than he let on. If that's the case, how the fuck do you leave him in the game?

No game is meaningless

Again, not just Shurmur

the Giants have a full medical staff and all of the FO is present at the game. If there was any concern at all for Jones, you'd have to think someone in that chain would say 'ok, time for this guy to come out'.

Of course they cleared him to play. It doesn't mean he SHOULD'VE continued to play.

would keep Engram out for four months. I thought we were getting an Eli cameo today.

Shurmur was scared Eli would refuse to enter the game.

That's on the medical staff to decide - I'm assuming whatever it was it was minor enough to let him keep going.

But my point was that clearance was an organizational decision, not on Shurmur. Obviously Shurmur wants him on the field at all costs, it's his best chance to win and save his job - the rest of the Giants org is there to ensure that the decision made reflects the best move for the organization both today and for the future.

Right, but the fact that he had a "noticeable limp" after the game leads me to believe it may be a bit more serious than we think. If that's the case, how do you justify leaving him in the game and risk further injury?
He kept playing cause he could
SGMen : 12/1/2019 6:10 pm : link
I don't really have a problem with him staying in if the medical staff determined he couldn't hurt it worse or it didn't have any tears.
Shurmur told Eli to get ready,

and Eli told Pat to shove it.

This coaching staff, don’t have to make stuff up

Fans often forget to coaches and players doing this for a living, there are no meaningless games
Anak, is it your job to

find meaningless tripe to complain about weekly besides posting about every useless player released by his team as a possible fit for the Giants?

Jones had a mild ankle sprain. About a series after it happened he wasn't limping at all. Did you see him limp in the 2nd half? I never even thought about it after they showed him point to his ankle as he came to the sideline.

But we can question Anakim.
I think Shurmur is awful but
steve in ky : 12/1/2019 7:11 pm : link
this doesn't seem worth getting worked up over. It's football and plenty of QB's play while dinged up a little. Unless there was real danger of serious injury if continuing to play then let him play through it. He will only learn from it.

The exclamation point will be Eli retiring with a sub .500 record for his career. Yikes.

doesn't make that call. If the medical people say Jones can go, he goes. You want Shurmur in the tent ?

I dont want Shurmur in the tent

If Shurmur is in the tent, who is going to use all of our timeouts with 5 minutes left?

Total overreaction by the OP. I can't stand Shurmur but this is a waste of time.
Eli started every game...

...until McAdoo famously yanked him after what, 12 straight seasons without a game missed?

Welcome to reality, Giant fans. This line gets human QB's on crutches.
