I haven't watched much college ball this year. He's been touted by all as a can't-miss savior -- is he THAT good? Like perennial DPOY candidate?
I know the stats are good but some of the clips I've seen he just seems to speed rush around the end...which is effective but not a path to dominance in the NFL. Not saying he's not, but is there a decent chance he's not nearly as "generational" as everyone thinks?
Act 2 next Saturday night
Get this kid in blue and let's get back to getting after the Q.
Chase Young is the goods - ( New Window )
I thought I read where he played with two sprained ankles for much of his sophomore season. What makes you question his heart?
Because he's not white?

Not sure if he has the same heart

Wow that escalated quickly. Why is race coming up at all? Unless your goal is to get this thread deleted.
If I remember correctly, Gholston was incredibly strong and relied exclusively on bull rushing and overpowering OT’s in college. Young isn’t doing that and looks like a far more complete player.
Nick Bosa literally decided not to come back from injury and play at Ohio State

I can guarantee I'm not the only one who had that thought reading the post.

Huh? Are you saying white players have more heart than black players? Or you think that’s the previous posters line of thinking? Odd take.
I think he's actually been pretty impressive against the run, too.
I was thinking that he looks a lot like Z’Darius Smith, who I wanted NYG to sign this past offseason.
[quote] And watching his game against Clemson and totally buying in. Yet he hasn’t translated in the pros. He’s good, but he hasn’t been the sure fire HOFer everyone was saying. I worry Young could be the same. But I don’t follow CFB closely. What are people’s thoughts on his hype compared with Clowney? [/quote
I watched the Michigan game and he was jogging slowly behind plays sometimes. Zero tackles. Like Clowney he’s built like a Greek god, but he’s surrounded by great players — we’ll just have to hope he’s got the heart and motor.
He's worth a #1 overall pick.
He’s not Clowney, he’s better. I’ve watched him play majority of the year and this kid is it. He’s explosive, he’s strong and he’s smart, he’s the best player in college football. If he’s there, you take him and don’t look back
