I know how that can be a problem, but that's going to be the case (to various extents) with any cloud based solution. The Skybell for example - doesn't have any known privacy issues, but comes with terms that are 10 pages long. I'm sure if you unwind the legalese, it gives them ownership of the metadata and the ability to do what they please with it.
End of the day, it's whether or not you want the cloud capabilities or not, which the latter would require you having some physical infrastructure (eg, an ONVIF capable doorbell cam with an NVR with internet access).
I answered my doorbell from 500 miles away over the weekend. Flawlessly
