you can easily make the argument...

peteschweaty : 12/2/2019 9:38 am
that the Giants are the worst team in the league. don't think i've ever been able to say that in my 40 yrs of rooting for them.

Mara has to see that they are a laughing stock and he has to clean house starting with DG.

Will he...doubt it...not the Giant way and how's the Giants way working out for everyone?
It might not even be an argument by season's end.

I think the Bengals might have a chance to win more games than the Giants.
There's not much

of an argument

Today, right now, they are definitely the worst team in the league
We

could easily be winless. TB missed a short FG to win. Keenum also missed several wide open WRs for what would have been easy touchdowns.

Bengals have been more competitive than one might think
We are really a 1-11 team

Was just dumb luck that the TB kicker missed an easy FG any middle school kicker can make.

That's why they play the game. It's not dumb luck. It's that TB put resources into other areas rather than their kicking game.
Should we have beaten the Bears last week because our kicker missed two FGs and we lost by 5 pts? Or should PS have another win last year because Carolina made a once in a generation FG- and the refs erroneously gave them a first down when McCafferey didn't make the marker? STFU with that garbage already.

The team sucks for plenty of REAL reasons. Their record is terrible for REAL reasons, as reflected in the REAL standings. It's disingenuous and cowardly to invent ways that they suck, when your point serves no purpose and is absurd at face.

The Giants suck. They are the second worst team in the league. Washington is worse. Cincinnati and Miami are probably more competitive. We will see.
I think that claiming that they are worse than Washington is a VERY hard case to make, as hard as the Giants suck. Which is terribly.

They play the Browns x2, home to the Patriots and at the Dolphins.

Did you forget how easily TB marched down the field to get into easy FG position? I was almost like our D did not exist.

Think we could have 2 100 yard rushers (okay, one was 99 yards) against Carolina's defense? I don't think that happens if we play Carolina a dozen times.
With the Fins and Skins coming up,

we'll find out soon enough. I used to think that we would win one of those 2, now I'm not so sure.

The ONLY way the Giants can win games is if the QB plays in a way that a rookie like Jones nor an over the hill vet like Eli is capable of or should be expected to.

Washington ran for almost 250 yards yesterday. How many games would it take for the Giants to do that? Wouldn't it be nice if Jones had a game where he only had to throw 15-20 passes because the running game dominated start to finish?

The Bengals have held 3 straight opponents under 20 points. The Giants have done that only twice all season. Wouldn't it be nice to win a game in which the defense (and special teams) just dominated like 2016?

The Giants are playing a lot of rookies a lot of snaps. But the o-line is mostly veterans and they absolutely fucking stink. They're non-competitive most of the time. The coaching staff looks like a pile of imbeciles. The team captains pretty much are all disappointments. The highest paid players on the team aren't even average at their positions.

This is the worst team in the NFL.

We are really an 0-12 team.

Tampa missed a chip shot field goal to win the game.

We played Washington with them starting 3 backup offensive linemen, and they were forced to play Haskins who at the time was being frozen out by the coach.

Top it off with the fact that we play in one of the worst divisions in NFL history. If we were in any other division ...

One more point -

The excuse about us playing a lot of rookies makes things even worse, because usually when a team plays a lot of rookies, they improve in the 2nd half of the year. This team - and every player on it - has regressed. Barkley is a liability on the field for example. How does Chris Spielman figure out his obvious tells and our coaches can't?
And Little Bill went for it on

4th and 13 in FG range. You probably think we ought to give back the trophy.

I'm baffled why some of you fans even bother. Functionally, outside of the draft, what is the fucking difference between 2-10 and 1-11? The team wins some and they lose a million. Some of those losses are by a hair's breadth, and some of those wins are by an equally narrow margin- it all comes out in the wash. Fans don't get extra points for gratuitous suffering.

If some of you do get off on that in other areas, no judgment. But that's not how W-L work. I'm not apologizing for any wins, just like I won't excuse any losses. I'm not sure what goes on in some fans' minds that makes them think otherwise.
I don't think this is true

The end of the McAdoo era was terrible, but I think we'd lose to that Jesse Palmer/Ian Allen late 2003 team.

the only time I can remember tuning out the season so early. Some brutal games- they could not get out of their own way early on, and later in the year they looked like they did not want to get out of their way.
At least this team has lots of rookie minutes and veterans playing for their jobs.

If the Bears had needed points at the end, they would have gotten them.

narrative that keeps getting pushed here doesn’t make sense when they fired the HC and long-time GM only two years ago. If they are happy with Gettlemen’s performance they will keep him, if not I wouldn’t surprised to see him go along with Shurmur after the last game.

get through a thread without mentioning that the Giants are really a 1-11 team. Has this hot take ran its course yet?

How many games each year are determined by a field goal...

By this logic we could say the Giants are really a 3-9 team because if Rosas made those two FGs we would have beat the bears.

The record is the record.
