The team is in turmoil right now, and we have heard nothing from Dave Gettlemen or John Mara. In my opinion as a fan it would be nice to get some insight from management as to why things have gotten so ugly in their eyes, and how this is going to get fixed.
Right now there is nothing to say aside from "I'm sorry we suck so bad. Hopefully we will stop sucking soon."
What can management say at this point? Can ownership put out P.R. that would help get a W in Philly Sunday? Can Gettleman make a statement that would change anything substantively?
I've wondered how Pat Hanlon must feel when he sees fickle fans say/write/post nasty crap about the front office, but just a few years ago the same were ecstatic with Super Bowl glory.
These jackasses got us into this mess, while getting even wealthier, and we shouldn't just wait because of some silly, unwritten protocol about timing.
I'm glad they're shutting-up. It spares us all of the body language and literal versus figurative speculation...

That's an emotional reaction, not a pragmatic one. What will having DG and Mara grilled by the media do, other than make angry fans feel better momentarily?
I am not a fan of this regime at all, but the calls for some sort of public flogging are infantile.

Pragmatic? The NFL is a TV show. It's entertainment. We're not talking about some high level trade negotiations between the US and China where being measured with what you say publicly is critical.
It would be great sport to see this organization have to face the music. They deserve it in the media and in commerce - less fans going to games to park, buy concessions, merchandise, etc.

So you are asking a business owner and his management team to subject themselves to public ridicule for entertainment purposes?
Again, that is a silly, emotional ask no different than asking them to come to your house, stroke your hair, and tell you that it will all be ok. It serves no other purpose. That is what 'pragmatic' means.
Exactly. Their actions will be what matter, not a bunch of empty words in a canned press conference

Nice gig, being management. No accountability for anything, as it should be-according to some.
No one is asking for them to allow themselves to be tar and feathered. It is not some big ask to subject management to the same media availability. Pat Shurmur, idiot that he is, still has the responsibility to face the music every week while John Mara allows his broadcast team to skewer the head coach as he hides in his suite.
That they know how to fix it? They don't - you know that already too.
That they're going to do everything in their power to correct it? They might - but they're basically toothless on that front, as evidenced by the last two seasons.
They're a laughing stock, there's no reason to make a media blitz to remind everyone, the team already does a good enough job of that on the field.

I hope Mara paid for that chair.

It's easy to roll Shurmur out there weekly to be the pinata for the horrible decisions taken by management and ownership.
The same decision makers who hired said pinata.
So let's hear what they have to say.
I hope Mara paid for that chair.
You know he didn't break it himself.
"Smithers! Come here and break this chair for me you jackanape!"
Giants were 1-5 on both occasions and Mara's comments were similar.
In Oct 2017, he was "very disappointed". In Oct 2018, he said he was "sick" and "embarrassed".
Also, in mid-November of 2017, three weeks before the Eli benching, Mara and Tisch issued a public statement saying that, while they were disappointed in the season to that point, McAdoo would remain coach at least until season's end.
Mara did not make himself available for comment at this year's October owners' meeting. The next one is coming up Dec. 10-11 in Dallas.
