organizational change

Who decided to hire Gettleman and Shurmur and why. What did they see in these two that would make us a winner. There needs to be organizational change as well. Do you agree?
Gettleman

Was by Accorsi feeling he owed it to him, so he recommended him to John. And well Mara saw it as a comfortable Giants way hire. Shurmur, well he’s an adult
i don't recall who else interviewed for the GM

position other than riddick and abrams. gettleman had more experience and/or success previously than those other two and was a known quantity to mara.

as for shurmur, i have read that he was either the third or fourth choice for the job. patricia opted for detroit because he has a relationship with the front office there, mcdaniels declined because he and riddick were a package deal and/or belichick counseled him not to take it, wilks i believe gettleman was high on but mara wanted someone with more experience or offensive experience (for eli), so shurmur.

Also, I think Gettleman (and Shurmur)was willing to entertain Mara's idea that they could squeeze 1-2 playoff seasons out of an Eli-led team.
A really shocking pivot must here don't fully fathom
Coach Red Beaulieu : 12/3/2019 1:04 am : link
From a tried and trued multiple winning SB people manager HC to a system wco analytics based HC with a goal of 70% completion rate for Eli.

Just think of the stupidity behind the scenes falling for some marketing buzzword.
I love how Mara gave Shurmur a 5 year contract

as though there was any competition from any other team in the NFL whatsoever and he had t make that "good pitch" to land him. No one wanted Shurmur and Gettleman would be unemployed today if it weren't for NYG. The Giants and their ownership/leadership are completely out of the loop and living in the past. Get with the times and listen /pay attention to where the league is going.

I would go so far as to hire Robert Saleh (9ers D-Coordinator), and if

he won't come here I'd hire their freakin' D-Line coach as our head coach before keeping Shumur another year. We need someone with some fire and tenacity to come in and shape this team up, get them playing football angry again.

Really not much in the way of choices. Patricia is not doing well at all in Detroit. McDaniels left the colts high and dry when he did not honor his commitment to coach there. And Wilks was fired after 1 year in Arizona.
But theres no such thing

as Jints Central. So I've been told.
