Thoughts on Rex Ryan as Coach?

I can't stand the guy but I do think he is a pretty good coach. I mentioned him in another thread. He could get the Giants back to defensive pride and also hire a good OC to get the the offense on track. I prefer a defensive coach and he can do a lot with the young D players we have. i thought about him just as a DC but you still have to see him so he may as well be coach with a good OC.

He has pretty much been around a .500 coach but did get the Jets to 2 Conference Championships with a shitty QB.

I now cant stand to look at Shurmur so I guess I would rather hate the coach and win than hate the coach and lose.
As a DC, I would consider him

He needs to prove he still has it. He knows the 3-4 defense. Yes, he is a loud mouth jerk. But as a short term answer, I support it. He won't last more than 2 years. He'll either blow up with saying something stupid or he'll have resurrected a defense with eyes toward another HC gig.

I saw first hand what he did in Buffalo.

This ass clown is much worse than McAdoo, Shurmur, Handley, or pretty much anyone else that you can come up with. THE FLUCKING PITS.

I'd hire Alfred E. Neuman to coach my team before I'd hire either of the Ryans.

But he's not going to be satisfied with being a coordinator. You hire him as one and he's going to be working to undermine whoever the HC is from day one.

but wouldn't hate it. His defenses are always great and his teams play hard. Would need a very good OC to groom DJ or whoever our future QB is.

Buddy actually thought his D was so good, he didn't need an O or ST. No wonder he never won a playoff game as HC. Rex wasn't that stupid, but he's a loser.

I actually lost any and all respect for his abilities as a HC when I was at a Ravens game vs Jets. He threw a challenge flag 5 minutes in on a potential 7 yard gain on 2nd and 10. ON SECOND DOWN.

He is a card-carrying member of the Clueless Game Management Club, along with Tomlin, Reid, McCarthy, Mangini, Singletary, Edwards

Guess we can cross him off the list too. So that narrows it down to.. Greg Popovich, Vince Lombardi's ashes, or Kevin O'Shea from the little giants.

crap in one season in Buffalo. He then hired his brother and together they flushed the crap down the toilet. Don't want him near the team in any capacity including driving the bus to the airport for away games.
