WHAT THE
F***? (Giants lost this game by 1 point).
I'll never forget that first DPI. Absolute textbook coverage from DRC, complete with turning his head and tracking the ball. That was the single worst flag against the NYG I have ever seen, including anything in the 2011 Packers playoff game.
Any flags you remember that top these...?
That was the least talented team I have ever seen. with all the injuries we had.. JPP was out for the first half of the year.. DRC was the only capable defensive player.. Collins was playing in his first game ever and because we didn't have a FS, he was forced to play FS.. Look at the talent on offense.. Jennings, Vereen, Dwayne Harris, Randle were major players for us.. The OL was worse than it is now..
That was the last well coached team we had.. I get the fact that late game coaching or decisions never went in our favor.. but a lot of that had to do with a lack of NFL caliber talent we had out there.. I'd say that our team right now and last year were more talented than the 2015 team..
boy do i miss big play odell...not his antics but damn he was exciting
Nothing-and I mean nothing-will come close to that '11 playoffs game vs. GB. If I ever thought the NFL was fixed, I'd point to that game.
Donnell's pathetic effort on 3rd & 4, stepping out of bounds before getting the 1st.
Odell scoring the TD on the next play & then stupidly taking his helmet off resulting in a penalty.
Him proposing to the kicking net.
JFC. That was, uh, something.
Earned? You fire a guy if you have a better replacement ready and waiting in the wings. Let’s not even get into how truly bad that 2015 team was on paper. Fans got their blood. And we’ve been a laughing stock ever since.
Shouldn’t be firing people punitively. Fire people when it’s absolutely necessary.
Remember donnells somersaults?

I love Tom Coughlin but he earned his firing in 2015. He really did.

It was absolutely necessary. He wasn't getting the job done anymore. The reason the team's a laughing stock since is because they hired nincompoops to replace Reese and Coughlin.

Good to see a reminder of what once was

Jennings, Vereen, and Harris were all solid that season considering their roles (primary back with split duties, pass-catching back, no. 3 receiver), and the OL was certainly better than it is now. That 2015 offense was good despite shooting themselves in the foot with turnovers and poor game management in critical games (all the division away games and the games against the Pats and Jets).

Between Jenning and Vereen, did any of them even have a role as a backup after the giants? They weren't good at that stage for the role of the starting RB.. In most functioning offenses they would be the 3rd back.. Harris is a special teams players who is no differnet then Tyree.. at his best he is supposed to be the 4th WR.. for us he was the second best WR at times.. Randle.. we all know he sucked.. as far as the OL goes.. our OL right now has 2 legit starters.. 2015 Giants had none.. they were either injured or they outright sucked..

Oh please stop. That team sucked. Sucked! They had NO defense. NO Oline. No running backs worth a wet shit and one, count them, ONE legit WR.
Coughlin made that team look better than it was. Why? Because the guy can coach with anyone. Don’t believe me? Ask bill parcells and Bill belichick how they feel about coughlin.
Good team my ass.
Throwing an incomplete pass up 3 on 3rd and goal from the 2 yard line with 1:37 left to play and Dallas out of T.O.'s was literally a fireable offense. Run the ball there and we are all but guaranteed a win. You don't risk an incompletion there and giving Dallas the ball back with 1:30. Run the ball and they have to go the length of the field with :50 seconds and no T.O.'s
TC was an AWFUL AWFUL game manager. Far worse than Shurmur.
So let me get this straight, Jennings - a bad RB - rushed for 4.4. YPC and was 12th in rushing efficiency, presumably behind a terrible oline? How did all these bad players produce above-average numbers for the sixth-ranked offense?
Vereen was a well-regarded 3rd-down RB from the Pats who continued his production at the Giants before tearing his triceps twice and ending his career.
Harris put up similar numbers to every other season he's had as a WR, so I don't see any kind of elevated role for him there.

Yes, everyone remembers the 2015 team for how well-coached they were.

I don't know what you mean by 12th in rushing efficiency.. you talking YPC? anyhow its pretty accurate to say that your Dwayne Harris comment is flat out wrong.. That year he had the most TD of his career and most receiving yards.. 2015 he averaged almost double the yards per game receiving than any other year in his life.. He had more starts on offense that year than the rest of his career combined..
