This actually has me excited to see the game. It will suck if we lose and he drops below .500 but now we can all soak it in that this very well is Eli's last time playing in Big Blue.
We are very lucky and fortunate in that regard. We will know to appreciate this moment more.
It's a win-win. We win, Eli gets a final W. We lose, we keep our draft position.
If DJ misses the rest of the season...well I'm sorry but I wanna see Eli 4-0. I don't care if it screws us out of Chase Young or Shurmur keeping his job. I wanna see Eli silence his critics and fucking go 4-0.
I was on the race for Chase bandwagon as hard as anybody Â
This to me is Eli's goodbye tour- which also is Pat Shurmur's bye bye tour.
Jones's injury may or may not be that severe but, it is a built in excuse to get Eli some final games in a Giants uniform and keep Jones from looking worse before off to the coaching search..
which is possible, Thursday night then watch out for the Eagles to absolutely light us up Monday. They will be pissed about the Dolphins game, they will be amped up about the division still open and Eli is a perfect QB for them to Tee off on as he cannot escape the pocket.
I'm disappointed that Jones is hurt and may miss a game, but at the Â
An old 40 yrs old qb cold from not getting hit is going to torch the eagles or any NFL defense?
Dude is going to take a pounding after a long layoff. He is old and can't avoid a rush
We might lose out
We may try to run the ball with power. We don't know how much of the O Line issues have been with Jones and the communication with the Center.
So now Jones is the reason the oline sucks. Hahahahah
Likely not the case, but the line did appear more competent in the first 2 games of the season. Small sample size, of course. But we all know Eli is good at pre-snap reads, so maybe there is SOMETHING to it. I guess we will find out.
Don’t pin the (highly likely) loss on Eli’s resume. A sub .500 record will fuck his HOF chances. You’ve fucked him over enough these last 7 years. Don’t do it one last time; this time with real repercussions to his legacy.
That would be the worst record this team's had, I believe, since the Johnson administration. Something like that might shock John Mara into real action.
Shurmur's last experience with Daniel Jones was keeping him in a snow game with a high ankle sprain.
Any type of progress Mara might be looking for would presumably be much more important with Jones in there as they headed for year 2 together. Eli winning a couple of games here might lead Mara to believe two things.
but let's face it I'm surprised he hasn't gotten seriously hurt with this Oline the way he was getting crushed every week. Now he can sit back and critique what he's seeing. He's got 10 games of experience. Come back next year fresh. I'm always cheering for a Giants win but I'm not expecting anything different than I saw in week 1 or 2.
last four games may be the four games that determine Eli's HOF chances.
That's possibly true, but it also pisses me off that the voters think like that. Eli's body of work is such that four games at the end of his career should have no impact on the decision.
It's kinda similar to Coughlin. If Coughlin had retired at the end of the 2011 season, he would be a shoe-in for the Hall of Fame. But when his time for consideration comes, his four sub-par seasons will be a factor that might keep him out.
RE: I actually think we may win now Monday night.. Â
these four games have no impact on Eli and the HOF. The only variable will be time. If anything, the narrative has switched from Eli being the issue to poor coaching, management and ownership.
One thing I will look for is if the Giants running game improves with Eli changing plays and making OL calls.
Let’s assume Jones is done for the year, just for shits and giggles. Eli is going to beat the Eagles twice in the same season? How many times in his career has that actually happened??
The ONLY time the Eli-led Giants consistently beat the Eagles (or swept them) was when Burress was on the team. Plax OWNED the Eagles. They have beat them ONLY 4 times since 2008.
Regardless -- one more win might be enough to screw up their draft position. But that's the kind of luck they've had this year.

I don't think you fully understand just how moronic sports writers are. Eli Manning is not respected by the bulk of them. They are only looking for an excuse to keep him out.
That is sucky. Let's see if our run game improves, with Eli being able to check to a run. Barkley may see more passes his way too.

4-0 for Eli. Fuck it.

I also hope he goes 0-4 if he’s going to start all of these games. Winning now is not a good outcome.
2-14 is the goal.

No, the worst possible news would be a torn ACL for Jones or Barkley.
Beat the dam Eagles
It is what happens with Mobil quarterbacks though
Tons of check downs and throws at rb feet

But sad that it's come to this...
Was rooting for 4 losses to end the year, but I simply can't root against Eli at this point.
Also this speaks to Eli's toughness. Jones couldn't make it beyond 10 straight games played...
Karma.

1) Shurmur pulled Eli too early.
2) This is much more about Eli than Shurmur.
That's best case scenario in my eyes.
Bingo.

I seriously doubt we're going to win this game. I'm expecting a 30-10 type score. Another blowout.
Well, it is.
Thankfully, Eli is not that petty.
you have Giants fans on BBI to attack him.

Anything that saves this regime is not good. I’ll expect the offense to look better than it has since the TB game.

Eli looked GREAT in the first two games of the season. Don't you remember?
-Jones hurt, Manning re-inserted as starter
-Ron Rivera looming
Gonna' be a roller coaster for sure. Merry Christmas, New York Media.

in all of this is the fact that Daniel Jones played with a high ankle sprain last Sunday.
Tough son-of-a-bitch.
+1000
Agree , tough.
The backup playing Monday night never missed a game!
Astounding, Jones is out of commison ten games into his career.
There is tough and then there is hall of fame tough.
