For one week at least. You know ownership is giddy.
Excited to watch our HOF QB audible out of Shurmur's abysmal play calling all night. Saquon should reap the benefits and our coach, arrogantly taking credit.
...moves the needle that much - like Dave in Hoboken just mentioned, the lines remain....maybe Eli doesn't fumble as much but the playbook will be limited without Jones' mobility. Plus Jones was making some nice throws.
I don't see the playbook being limited at all. If anything it will be expanded
Definitely shed a tear when he takes field class act, warrior and a role model for young GIANTS to start playing football with some heart instead of cashing paychecks
Lets upset dirty birds make something out of season
has no mobility, our OL can't block, and our receivers can't separate. The Eagles will get pressure with five or five DL, forcing Eli to throw into tight windows against six or seven DBs. My guess is that he gets pummeled.
I hope Eli tells Shurmur to shut up on the first play he tries to call in. Eli should run the offense and go with what he sees out there. Allow him to use that big head of his. One of his greatest attributes has always been his intelligence.
Get under center, adjust the alignment, run the ball to setup the play action pass. Eli should play to his strengths.
So sick of watching this coaching staff try to force square pegs into round holes.
I actually would love for him to play off-script and without abandon. What is Shurmur going to do - bench him? Shurmur won't have the option. If Mara is witness to an in-game benching of Manning, he may have security lead Shurmur away in a perp walk. Manning is a made man. He can do whatever he wants without fear of repercussions.
Joe Flacco has had more than 4 good playoff games. He has played in 15 career playoff games and his record is 10-5.
Flacco posted a passer rating of 92.1 or higher an amazing 9 times.Taking out his first 2 seasons, Joe has had a 92.1 passer rating or higher in 9 of 10 playoff games. That would be thanks to his touchdown-to-interception ratio of 24-4.
Flacco holds the record for most post-season road wins by a quarterback, with 7.
Joe Flacco is one of the best playoff quarterbacks in NFL history.

Playoff success is only important when talking Eli. Flacco was just lucky to have a great defense, coach, oline receivers. Eli won 2 rings with no help

Cmon, even Elway needed a running game and a defense before he could win the SB
That means there is zero left to watch with this team. Let's hope 0 and 4 finish to get to 2 pick. Nothing from Eli is exciting at this point
Tons of check downs and throws at rb feet
This Junior guy is rediculous with his Eli hate. I bet he's like 10 yrs old and doesn't remember those Super Bowls.
There are a ton of these "fans" ruining this site, they came over when we got OBJ. They are just awful, unknowledgeable posters/fans. I hate them with a passion, so I just don't post here anymore.
They are all over FB also in the Giants groups on there. Just clueless fans who get their info from FF and Madden
Pretty straightforward to me, root for our longtime QB to beat the Eagles one more time, draft position be damned. We probably won't win anyway. This is getting to be like comedy with this team.
I know it's being ridiculous to even think about, but just for the sake of preserving the draft position, who would complain much if Tanney got any starts Jones couldn't make?
He’ll cement his HOF legacy and give a parting “fuck you” to ownership and the front office. And fuck over the Eagles in the process.
Fucking over the Eagles is worth losing out on Chase Young.
Go NY, its the city where the monkey fell off the building!
I feel you, but the only thing I don't get is the fuck you to ownership. They've made him and his family insanely wealthy. Over $200 million during his career? His kids, grandkids, great grandkids and so forth should never, ever want for anything material. Also, he knew it couldn't go on forever. Pretty sure Easy E bears no malice toward ownership. Coach, maybe. DG, probably. But not Mara and Tisch.
How 'bout Eli loses on Monday, starts and wins against 'Fins Â
The verbal diarrhea Eli's going to have to tune out in that stadium will be unprecedented. Hope he comes out with a win and doesn't get maimed in the process.
It would take our Lord Jesus to save Shurmur's job at this point. He isn't being saved by a qb in the last few games of his contract.
Manning is a lock for the HOF. Multiple SB MVP's in wins against the mighty Pats, including their previously undefeated team, 57,000 yards, 370 td's, he's in first ballot. This isn't baseball.

Could be that those linemen will play better for an old, defenseless Giants hero than they did for the new kid, Jones, who can (or could) run. Plus Eli did a lot of losing to the Eagles and would like to leave (if he must) after turning that around. Pride, you know. Hard to predict what will do or when it will show itself.
when the ball gets kicked off for a Giant's game, I want a win. I don't care about getting the coach fired, a better draft position, etc. I just want to win that game. If we lose the game, then maybe I'll look for silver linings, but I never go into a game hoping to lose. I just want to win. Always.
In a season that turned helpless a long time ago a ray of sunshine appears.
I hope Eli destroys the Eagles Monday night.
Also a speedy recovery for DJ.
I hope Eli tells Shurmur to stick it and go sit down Â
Why this matters to so many people I have no idea.
Me too, who gives a crap.
Only the morons on here that have developed a self concept problem over the last few years because of the losing. The idea that there is a difference between being several games over .500 versus several games under .500 relative to a assessing a QB’s15 year career is ludicrous.
It goes both ways. There was a poster a couple days ago trying to tell me Daniel Jones is a better quarterback than Lamar Jackson. And of course there's been the baseless optimism over the 2018 and 2019 draft classes.
Well it's not an outrageous thought. As a pure thrower of the football (physically, mentally, etc), I'm not so sure Lamar Jackson is all that great. Pretty good maybe, but he's getting RG3 2012 easy level throws on the regular, with perhaps an even more powerful running game. Kaepernick used to get those easy throws in late 2012 as well.
By the narrative people are using for Lamar right now, Kap and RG3 were top 5 QBs in 2012, for sure. RG3 had a great TD/INT ratio, offensive rookie of the year, managed to move the ball on a tough seattle defense in the playoffs. Kap actually carried the 49ers in the 2012 playoffs when they allowed 31 to Green Bay at home, 24 to the Falcons, and still put up 31 in a SB first losing effort (i.e. losing a SB scoring more than 30 points).
Maybe Lamar will develop into a good QB in the traditional sense, but that remains to be seen. It took Russell Wilson 8 seasons to finally carry the Seahawks the way the national narrative claimed he was doing from day 1.
For now Jackson's certainly explosive and effective.
But when Jones or Goff or Garoppolo have a game as ugly as last year's playoff game against the Chargers, I'll be holding my praise for Jackson tight to the vest.
and I think he will be the future. However Im happy to see Eli for one more time. I hope he does well and makes all us Eli fans proud. He is not the future but I do feel he was dealt a bad had at the end of his career.
Russell Wilson has been doing it since his early years Â
the playoffs, even great teams. I wonder why posters on here underplay how elite QBs sometimes get shafted and how sometimes only somewhat good QBs get crowned.
And how bad they went, which is why DJ8 was named starting QB? Eli hasn't played in 10 weeks and the rest of the team has regressed in that time frame too
But yeah he's going to go out there throwing fire. Ok.
Then basically does what he wants with the offense when he is out there.
Why would he do that? And why would you think he would do that? Why would you even say something like that?
I'm sick of moronic statements. Eli deserved to sit. He should have sat last year. Eli is cooked and has been
cooked for two years.
What is your issue? Where did I say Eli shouldn't have been replaced? You are creating your own agenda from what I said. I think Shurmur sucks, that is what I am talking about. So yes, I hope a veteran QB who has nothing really to lose tells him to take a hike. Thats all. I swear, some of you need to get a grip. I'm not one of you guys who has to like one player over the other. I like both Jones and Eli. I hate Shurmur. And don't ever call me a moron.
I hope throws 400 yards, scores winning TD w a minutes left each game Â
On his way out ..what a way to come in team is
a dumpster fire so he gets the beloved Eagles team
desperate for a win with no weapons ..
It would be fitting that he beats them with a
come back drive . Ok I know i'm dreaming I just
wanted him to go out on a good note but
not gonna happen under UnShurmur
Wants Eli to bet the Eagles on monday night to put the Eagles fans out of their misery.
It won't happen though, Eli has a terrible career record against the lousy Eagles.
That and Shurmur is still doing the play calling, and he's the worst head coach in Giants history.
Just playing for the love of the game and being there for his teammates. It's fitting, really.
Excited to watch our HOF QB audible out of Shurmur's abysmal play calling all night. Saquon should reap the benefits and our coach, arrogantly taking credit.

Tate has a concussion.
Quote:
but Eli has not had the opportunity to play with Golden Tate. I would think that he, like Shepard, is the type of receiver that would really fit Eli.
Tate has a concussion.
Didn't they say Tate would be back? (On the upswing)

Tough son-of-a-bitch.
Yup.
Yes, or at least a strong chance he's back.

Mostly a media thing. Just another stat that pundits will use to say why Eli isn't a HOF/great QB.

I think that’s a bit dramatic. A four game stint as a backup QB for a 2-10 team is going to determine a player’s HOF chances?
