after getting whooped like this on national television.
The funny thing is, this literally happens to 90% of visiting teams on TNF. Would feel bad for Garrett that he would lose his job over something that literally happens every week (kind of).
Then again: Cowboys are still going to win their division. Once you're in the tournament anything can happen. Who do you think Jerry has in mind that could *immediately* do a better job in the playoffs than Garrett would?
To peak in October. Kellen Moore was a genius in week one and Matt Nagy was a bum most of the season. Hard work, film study and learning how to maximize your players' talent is what makes a good coach. Garrett is NOT that. Nagy appears to possibly be. He had the Dallas on its heels all night with bunch formations, quick passes and big physical WRs blocking down field. Dallas got steamrolled by a well coached offense. Trubisky has limits, but it looks like Nagy is mitigating those and using what he does well after trying to expand his game after a good 2018. Take note John Mara, this is what good coaches do.

I agree with you and one big favtor for Bears all season is Trubisky has been hurt. He hurt hus shoulder early and has taken his lumps. ThecBears defense hasn't been lights out the way many expected and that has hurt them too.
I could see Jones offering Urban Meyer a shot here or putting Kellen Moore in as new HC.
...pull Garrett out of the cockpit while the plane is in a nosedive? I think his fate is already sealed, but might as well give him the last three games to try and win the division. They could still win the NFCE with a losing record...
during the season. At least not when they’re sadly still in first place even though it’s with a losing record. But he’s definitely gone once they’re eliminated unless they go on a run and make it to the super bowl.
All his hand picked ass't coaches. Remember when everyone on BBI had a hard on for OC Kellen Moore. Not saying Garrett is a good coach just that this is Jerry's doing.
I mean - kudos to him for winning games he's supposed to win, BUT winning against a reeling Dallas team at home in the snow, the Giants and the Lions twice with a different back up QB each time isn't exactly what I would use a measuring stick to designate Nagy as a "good coach".
We'll see how they handle the next three games, @ GB/KC/@Min - then we'll talk about whether or not he's a good coach.
Cowboys talent might be one of the most overrated rosters Â
Dont want Richard to take over and win out and take them to the playoffs. He could then get the full time gig and I want him here. If not as HC at least DC
RE: Cowboys talent might be one of the most overrated rosters Â
Marinelli? Last time he did not win a game.
Richard? Dallas defense has not been overly impressive this year imo.
Seems like the rookie OC is causing some of the issues.
Overall the team is overrated. They have a old "young" line mostly from injuries and not as strong as they were. Although a solid QB, Dak struggles against better D's (accuracy issues exposed) and when they can't excel in running the ball. They give up too much in the run game on D.
cautionary tale for fans in the NFL. A team gets off to a good start and they get crowned before letting the season play out.
Kellen Moore was getting a ton of attention in the early season. People were saying Dak was worth the money and that the Cowboys were poised to win it all.
Every year, you have a few teams like Dallas that get overrated because of playing in a weak division or getting off to a quick start.

I admit Dallas had me fooled but then again, watching them against us week 1 they looked like the 93 team.
I think Dallas's biggest problem is the QB. He's not what he gets hyped up to be.
I also think they are feeling the loss of LVE big time on D.

This season couldn't be a more perfect storm if you are an anti cowboy person- Dak puts up bigger numbers but many of them in losing efforts or against poor competition and Cooper's numbers are good/not great but some will be blamed on his injury. I hope they break the bank on these guys and put themselves in cap hell for years.

Dak is costing himself millions with every bad start, earlier in the year they were talking about $30m per season, now I can't see them offering half that!
when Garrett was walking to the sideline before the game. Jerry Jones was standing with another elderly gentleman, and Garrett shook the other guy's hand, walking right past Jones. It certainly looked like their relationship is on the skids.
Their OL has seriously regressed, their defense can't create turnovers, but the real problem has been Dak. Despite throwing for 300 yards last night, he was really bad. He missed easy throws. Dallas is in a tough spot with Dak. They almost have to resign him, but buyer beware.
1st and foremost I dont even want him in the conversation for the Giants job. He's a smart guy and probably interviews well but he's just not a good coach. Secondly, as long as he is with Dallas they will not win so I hope he stays a long time.
Couple of thoughts, part based on a Cowpukes' fan call Â
First, it has been my opinion that the Cowpukes will never win or get close to another Super Bowl as long as Jerruh remains the GM. Second, this Cowpukes' fan talked about their lack of discipline and how they are always one of the worst teams in the league in terms of discipline (he specifically referenced Lawrence going offsides). I have always noticed this about Dallas...it used to be another DeMarcus who did these things in critical situations. I can remember key games with the Giants including the divisional playoff game in 2008 where DeMarcus Ware would commit a critical offsides.
Ultimately, this is a Jerruh problem, always has been.
I think he’s watched too many films of Tom Landry and tries to imitate the stoic look on the sidelines ... he rarely shows emotion. Contrast this with Nagy who almost had a coronary because the tackle blew an assignment on a direct snap to Jones in the 4Q ... A good HC has controlled fire and emotion and when needed.
Every week when I watch Dallas it seems there defense Â
gets eaten up alive and their offense is nowhere near efficient enough to keep up with that. They played the Giants, Dolphins, and Redskins the first three weeks and everyone fell in love because how they closed out last seas on. But the offense is overrated and whatever was causing the defense to play how it did during the stretch of last year is gone. It is an overrated group of players and i would love for them to double down on this roster and think the fault lies with only Garrett (that in no way should be seen as an opinion that I want him to be our coach—but I think the problem with them lies in many places and Garrett is only one part of that).
is holding his head from stress every-time he is in a close game. I am not sure the NFL is good for him and would be surprised with him going that route. Lincoln I think has potential to implode.
Anyone one also think Dallas 2007 was a much better team? Romo/Dak, Owens/Cooper, better OL and D, Young Witten/Old Witten.
