But it's a who cares at this point. This season is about getting one of the top 2 picks and getting Daniel Jones' feet wet in the NFL...to learn and be ready to win next year.
I would much rather be 2-10 than 5-7 right now. You should want to be really good, but if you're not that, then the worst thing you can be is mediocre.
If they leverage this top pick correctly, then good times will follow. This, to me, is an exciting time to be a Giants' fan.
I'd agree, but I just looked, and Tres Way on the Redskins is having a Ray Guy type impact as a punter (and putting up better numbers than Guy did). He's averaging nearly 50 yards a punt (49.9), he's punted 60 times. And only 3 of those were when the Redskins were on the opponents side of the field (and 2 of those were inside the 20).
That tells you
- The Redskins offense sucks ass and can't move the ball and need Way to help flip field position
- Way has actually done the job really well when the Skins are backed up. And his net on these punts is around 45 yards, so the returners are only getting about 5 yards. That's pretty amazing and tells you the Redskins cover teams are good, and that Way is booming them to let them get under a 50 yard punt.
Dixon is no slouch, averaging 47 yards a punt and having a much better year than I thought he would. While Rosas regressed, Dixon stepped up. At the end of it, when your punter is your best player, you are in the Dave Jennings territory that your team sucks and all you can hope for is your punter to flip field position.
Since I was 10 years old, I'm 62 years old now. I don't give a rats ass about that game, or who's chosen to play in it.
It's a meaningless game.
Same here, but I think OP's point was less about the game and moreso bemoaning the fact that there aren't any Giants players worthy of the "honor". But you're right, it's a completely meaningless game.
There are multiple nfc rb's ahead of him in the voting already. With enough injuries, just about anybody can get in, but Barkley's not getting in as an initial selection.
He deserves consideration - I can't wait to see what he can do next year, really hoping they move him to the nose.

The 0-16 Lions had Calvin Johnson.
No, we have no one anywhere even close to a pro bowler actually. Idk even know who the closest would be by whoever it is he's miles off.
It's really really sad.
