Troy Aikman

Gettledogman : 12/6/2019 10:54 am
If you watched last nights game you know he called out the entire coaching staff of the Dallas Cowboys all night. you will also know he repeatedly mentioned Ron Rivera as a great coaching candidate and one who is available to lead MEN. He basically called his old team out as soft. That is the problem I see with the Giants currently that is being addressed -Rivera is the coach for this team.
im on board

This is how I feel. There will be some excellent assistant coaches available this offseason too (Rod Marinelli, Kris Richard, Bill Callahan, Jay Gruden, Norv Turner, Jeff Davidson, etc.)
I don't get the love for

Rod Marinelli, Kris Richard... Dallas defense has been soft. Even Aikman was poking them last night for how vanilla they are.
Cowboys will be all in on Rivera, and

Mara will be smitten with Garrett.
Rivera
upstatenyg : 12/6/2019 11:28 am : link
Will be in demand from several teams.

Dave G will have a strong role, given his past with Rivera.

did you watch the game? It was laughable. On a 3rd and 9, Corderelle Patterson made half the team miss though he was dead to rights and picked up like 35 yards. It was a sure stop. No chance. I was laughing.

Dallas has Jerry and future cap problems are they really an attractive job?
I usually think Aikman does a good job

of staying neutral, but last night he crossed the line several times from dispassionate announcer to disgusted fan.
Aikman isn't neutral.

But he is usually spot on.
Supposedly Dallas is interested in Urban
ArizonaBlue : 12/6/2019 11:36 am : link
That would suck. As much of an ass he is, he's a great coach

Mara’s faults, I would much rather have him as my boss than Super Turd Jerry Jones. If money offered is equal you take the Giants job.
He's not neutral
Mike from SI : 12/6/2019 11:37 am : link
but he doesn't cheer the Cowboys when they have success; he only shits on them when they're bad. So I'm fine with it.

I'm not so sure about that. Rivera will not put up with Jones's bullshit, and Jerry knows it. I could see him jumping on a hot coordinator or college coach.

And on Trubisky's TD run. Their tackling was atrocious last night.

Garrett is not coming here to be a head coach
I was hoping SC would fire Helton &

hire Urban, but alas...

I think Jerry goes hard after Urban this offseason.

A great "college" coach, I don't think his act would play well in the NFL.

4 of those wins against the Giants, Skins and Dolphins. Yikes.
Still will runaway with the NFC East, though. Double yikes!
I didn't see the whole game but I happened to see

Trubisky's TD run. I was thinking ... WTF? It looked like they allowed him to score.

Jerry would sell his soul for a Super Bowl win. I def see him going into the college ranks again -it worked with JJ and Barry.

Jerry doesn't sell his soul. People sell their souls to Jerry.
i doubt urban would take the cowboys job
Essex : 12/6/2019 1:15 pm : link
it is the toughest job in the NFL and Urban has a lot of documented history dealing with stress. It is one thing coaching Ohio State where recruiting will win him 8 of 11 games a year, the NFL is a much different obstacle where you can lose every week. when he took the Ohio State job he promised his family he would work 8 hour days. Not sure if a college coach making the jump could work under those conditions. I would be looking at Lincoln Riley for the Cowboys
Aikman’s best line of the night ...
Spider56 : 12/6/2019 1:42 pm : link
Even if you wanted to replace Garrett today, not one of the current position coaches or coordinators has done enough to deserve the job ... or words to that effect, I’m in the minority but I’ve always liked Buck and Aikman ... In my book, they’re 2nd only to Collinsworth and Michaels

According to the article, Urban has said in the past he would take the job. It did not say when he said that though
I know the team seems to be responding well now,
smshmth8690 : 12/6/2019 4:09 pm : link
but how can you not think that there is a chance Rivera winds up in Chicago. Wasn't there talk of Nagy being on the hot-seat a few weeks ago?

Aikman has been that way the last couple of Dallas games he has done. He's really starting to sound frustrated. The commentary he had during the Pats game made it sound like he was a disappointed fan.
