after he was dismissed about his lack of adjustments, that he ran back the same scheme year to year. That, and he had 2 of the best QB's to ever suit up.
The perception is he was basically an anchor on a Packers team with an all time great QB and only getting to/winning one Super Bowl with Rodgers should be viewed as majorly underachieving.
He also interviewed terribly with the Jets last year, that was mentioned on FAN this week.
He has 10 playoff wins and a winning playoff record
He has been to 4 Championship games
1 Super Bowl championship
Thats not all explained by just 1 player
Agreed. And I am surprised no one gives him credit for assisting in the development or Rodgers. Rodgers fell because of flaws he had out of college.
BBI can be a strange place. Pining for guys like Matt Rhule who has done nothing in the NFL simply because he may be good rather than a guy who has had some measure of success in the NFL. I don't know if McCarthy is the savior, but to dismiss everything he did because of Rodgers is shortsighted. To say "we saw what his offense was without Rodgers", I mean come one going from Rodgers to a backup qb, any offense will struggle.
Regarding McCarthy’s work ethic when he left Green Bay. True or not, I would imagine that they would make a team need to do a lot more homework on the guy than normal. You also can make the argument that 1 Superbowl with a talent like Rogers in his prime was underachieving.
that he won a fucking SuperBowl with a supposedly bad coach pulling him down, why is that the only ring Rodgers has? Shouldn't poor Rodgers be winning the big one every year without that dastardly villain Mccarthy anchoring him down?
The overall lack of logic and twisting of facts to suit one's own opinion that takes place around here is astounding.
Go watch the last 5 minutes of the Packers Seahawks championship game and us let us know who lost that game for the Packers the QB or the HC.
That wasn't a one off either that's how McCarthy has always coached.
Then there's the two playoff loses to the Giants with the far superior team at home and 2 different HOF QBs.
No way on him.
well with that logic, then the Giants won because of coaching. Coughlin won the game not Eli and Defense.
At some point the coach gets the credit and the blame. I would look at McCarthy when Rodgers was injured. How did they perform when he was out during his time?

When he was canned, there was an article that did the whole writeup of the relationship between the FO, Rodgers and McCarthy. It was posted here on BBI, and I sent it to a friend I have that's a GB fan.
Same guy sent me back a blog post prior to his dismissal - not sure how accurate it was, but it had some inside view that McCarthy knew change was coming and he was out, so he had basically started checking out. Can't remember what the name of it was, but the author ripped him because it was very early in the season and had already started mailing it in.
If he did check out well before it was over, then it's altogether possible teams think he's burnt out and aren't considering him viable at this point.
Is a hard pass for me that article that came out was not disputed by any player or coach and even if only half if it is true he is not the type of guy I want around a young team that needs a strong leader. Next his offense scheme sucks we already ran it with Ben and to be honest I am sick of watching our HC looking at a massive dinner menu calling the plays all game

Not to mention his last season he was getting back massages while his coordinators were running the show.
Hard hard pass.
McCarthy is 48 games over .500.

9 playoff seasons. 8 consecutively
6 division titles

He has been to 4 Championship games

They are not ready to sell themselves to a new team. McCarthy May have had that problem.
