Giants are among the NFL’s best in defending tight ends?

Steve in ATL : 12/6/2019 7:46 pm
Shocked with this news. Fewest opponent TE catches but how about the yards and TDs?

Going into Monday night’s matchup against the Eagles, New York is holding tight ends to the fewest catches per game in the league, allowing an average of 3.25, according to CBS Sports.

An example of how stats can say anything

The Giants have no idea what they are doing at Linebacker and Safety and haven’t a clue how to defend Tight Ends in a decade.

Eagle Tight Ends will go off on Monday.

But it’s not all bad...Ertz is on my fantasy team.
Why throw to to TE

When WRs are wide open every other snap.
Tell that to that lumbering idiot in Dallas, Jarwin

Throw to a TE, and you get 5-10 yards against us.

Throw to a WR, and you get 15-60 yards.

Beat me to it.

Can probably subtract "other" from the sentance though.

Also I just decided to look at our schedule and.. I noticed, no team we've played so far has anything near a great TE. The best we've played against so far is probably.. OJ Howard? Lol and the bucs dont even use him. Maybe TJ Hockenson?
Average 3 catches per game probably for 18 yards per catch

And a guaranteed 1st down.
Let’s see what this stat reads after the 2 games with the Eagles.

Zach Ertz will be offensive POW.

There's only a handful of TEs in the league this year that even average more than 3.25 catches per game - most are in the AFC.

Ertz, who the Giants have yet to play against, leads all TE's in receptions (Goedert has been very productive this year for the Eagles as well). I'm certain both will get a large volume of targets and receptions on Monday.
That's beause wr's are lighting them up! The Giants have been

terrible defending TE's fo years. Jason Witten has made a career agaisnt the Giants!
No need to throw to TE’s
