It's about time. Maybe Dolan has woken up and smelled the coffee at last. I actually like Perry. Let's see what else is done. Hopefully Jimmy brings in some pure basketball men to run the operation so they can rebuild properly. Hit on their next lottery pick or two and then we're in business.

These last two seasons fall directly on Mills, who, according to sources, will either be reassigned or simply removed from the building. His expiration date is long overdue. The Athletic reported last month that Dolan will try again to pry Raptors President Masai Ujiri from Toronto. If that doesn’t work, maybe NBA Commissioner Adam Silver will point Dolan toward R.C. Buford, Sam Presti, Neil Olshey and Daryl Morey. The Knicks are in the early stages of another massive overhaul that will only work if Dolan gives his next executive savior full autonomy.
I, too would like to see the reins handed over to Perry for the rest Â
I don’t want to see Perry or Mills do shit. Why allow them the opportunity to mortgage the future in order to try to save their own asses? If they want to trade Morris, Portis, or Gibson for a draft pick, fine. But the last thing this organization needs is to allow one of these clowns to try a make a “splash” to prove their worth. Get rid of them both and start over.
but wouldn’t be surprised if this was leaked to let other candidates know the Knicks job will be open
As much as the Knicks have been a graveyard for coaches and execs for 20 years, if someone can actually come in and turn it around they will be a legend...that still has to appeal to guys around the NBA.
Plus, Dolan has no problem guaranteeing people a fuckload of cash over and over again
the HC. He also said something I didn't know: Steve Kerr was going to come here but Dolan wouldn't guarantee him a fifth year. Fast forward a few days later and Dolan did end up giving that fifth year guarantee...to Derek Fisher.
RE: Screamin' A. said that Dolan likes Kidd a lot so he's an option for Â

That’s insane. Lol Knickery
And Budenholzer wanted the Knicks job over the Bucks job Â

I don’t buy that. I trust you and I’m sure stupid Smith said this but he’s full of hot steaming shit.
if for nothing else than to get some distance from him before a new guy is hired.
Perry - you kind of have to keep Perry in place, don't you? You need someone to run the team, and unless you have the next GM in hand today he's basically it.
But im afraid in reading articles and listening to WOJ that the problems go way deeper with the knicks and they start with dolan. He has people in place who have been there for over a decade , some people we never even heard of who are puppets for dolan and doing everything they can to not be fired. The culture at MSG is Terrible and its all because dolan refuses to let anybody come in and build it from scratch.
Even Phil had mills and the medical department forced on him , and david griffin wanted the job back in 2017 but he wanted allan houston fired and the chance to bring in his own guys and dolan refused.
Unless dolan does something he hasnt done in 20 years and that is allow someone like ujiri to come ina dn be given FULL AUTONOMY for real and the ability to fire all the snakes at MSG then this franchise is fucked as long as dolan is the owner
budenholzer wanted the knicks job BEFORE the bucks job was open
This was the biggest miss of all of them. The only reason that didn't bother me as much was the hope that Fizzes relationships with the prime grade A FAs would pay off. We all saw how that worked out.
Heard on a podcast that almost last years signing, except for Morris and other, were signed for 2 years and not 1 year card reported. Did anyone else hear that?
Also, the story that Kerr wanted 5 years and Dolan refused the 5th year was reported at or shortly after it happened.
Last, what I can’t believe that Dolan allowed Mills to sign Hardaway after Jackson was fired before a GM was hired. First, I think he was overpaid significantly and I think he was part of the trade to Dallas, to get rid of Hardaway which we’re going to look back as a really bad return for the Knicks assuming Dallas keeps playing the way they’re playing
Knicks should go hard after Daryl Morey this coming offseason Â

Saying Dolan is enamored with Ujiri. From article-
Sources also say Ujiri would be intrigued by the challenge of fixing the Knicks, the chance to build something from scratch and, not insignificantly, by the opportunity to elevate his Giants of Africa philanthropy by working in the New York market.
Influential voices in the NBA have strongly advised Ujiri not to take the job, if it's ever offered, sources say. But those same sources say Ujiri might do it anyway, if the money is right, if he's granted the necessary autonomy and if Dolan funds Giants of Africa as generously as the Raptors ownership group has.
Ujiri's contract is believed to run through 2021 but with an out clause under certain circumstances. He turned down a lucrative extension last summer, sources said, leaving the impression that he wants to keep his options open.

Not a huge deal but between Noah the money from Gibson, Bullock, Ellington and Payton even if waived- will count 10 million toward the cap. That’s a lot of dead money and awful use of resources. These scrubs were overpaid to begin with.
Another brilliant move by Scott Perry. And people were actually praising him for these contracts...
Immediately. I want this guy to have no part of trade maneuvers as we unload some of these vets. He's a finance geek and always has been. How he ever got sway in personnel matters is malfeasance by Dolan(no surprise as all he wants is an ego stroke job by someone, ANYONE).
Fire Mills YESTERDAY. Keep him away from all decisions and transactions involving the roster.
very rarely does a president get fired midseason

Budenholzer also has the Greek Freak
I don’t buy that. I trust you and I’m sure stupid Smith said this but he’s full of hot steaming shit.
Don’t buy this either.
Smith is just trying to stir up shit and build a case against Dolan. His heart might be in the right place but this smells like BS.
