CB Janoris “Jackrabbit” Jenkins -- December 7, 2019

Q: Pat (Shurmur) mentioned that you guys talked, had a good talk earlier this week. How did that go from your perspective?
A: It went really good. We talked about, as a coach and player, that we’ve got to understand, and we’re just moving forward.

Q: What was your message to him in that conversation and what was his to you?
A: Just something that me and him talked about. Whatever we talked about is between me and him. He addressed the situation and I told him what it was really about, and we’ve been moving forward.

Q: How’s everything with you and (Defensive Coordinator) Bettch (Bettcher)? Is that something that you were able to…
A: Me and Coach Bettch have always been on the same page. Like I said, we talked about it. Between him and Coach Shurmur, we all talked about it. We’re just moving forward.

Q: It comes off as kind of pointing the finger at him. I understand you were probably just frustrated but how do you explain to him that maybe it wasn’t your intention?
A: I just told him that wasn’t my intention. It wasn’t like that, it wasn’t my intention for it to be put out that way. He just said he understood, and we moved on.

Q: How frustrating has this season been for you?
A: It’s been okay, man, football is football. Everybody hates losing. Everybody wants to win. Me, I just like to play football and have fun, win at the same time. So that’s really it for me.

Q: So, the three of you guys, you, Pat and James (Bettcher), met and talked at the same time?
A: Not at the same time, but individually. They both called me up and we talked about it after I got back from Florida. We’re moving forward.

Q: Do you think you’re going to travel with the receiver or what’s your impression of that going forward?
A: I don’t know, I told you all that I just play within the scheme. I’m going to go out and play football each and every week. Just do my job and do it to the best of my ability.

Q: Is that hard to sort of stomach? The way Bettch explained it to us was it’s almost partly because of the guys around you that it might not be possible for you to travel at all times. How do you comprehend that?
A: I’m just playing within the scheme. Me and Coach Bettch are on the same page, everybody knows what’s going on. Like I said, I’m just going out there to play football to the best of my ability and have fun doing it.

Q: If you do get matched up with Alshon (Jeffery) and he’s the guy that you follow around, what kind of matchup is that for you?
A: If, well I mean, it is a nice matchup. He’s a big guy, a really big guy, he likes to use his body a lot, not that fast. But you know I’m going to go out there and have fun.

Q: You guys are 2-10, a lot of fans are kind of checked out on this season, obviously. What are your expectations on what this team is going to offer Monday night?
A: We’re going to come out and play hard and fast. Everybody is going to play physical football, have fun doing it, play all together. Hopefully come out victorious.

Q: The Eagles have beaten the Giants nine out of the last 10 meetings. Do you believe teams can get inside another team’s head when they get on a roll like that? Is there a hex so to speak?
A: Not really, it’s just all about showing up that week, being ready to play football against the opponent. We were nine out of 10— that’s in the past, we’re looking ahead. We’re just going to go out and compete.

Q: What do you see when you look at their offense? It’s been sort of up and down, guys in and out.
A: They’ve got a very powerful offense, they’ve got weapons around them. (Carson) Wentz is a good quarterback. We’ve just got to know what we’re doing and know what’s coming. When it comes, we’ve got to react. From what we’ve seen, there is a lot of zone reads, downhill runs, doubles, stuff like that. We’ve just got to play football.

Q: A lot of heavy tight end stuff. How does that affect you as an outside guy?
A: Always be on your game. They do a lot of flash and pass out of the big formations, we know that. So, we’ve just got to be on point at all times.

Q: As this season winds down, do you think these might be your final games here with this team?
A: I don’t know, I don’t control that. I’m here to play football. Hopefully I’ll be here, but if not, business is business. I’m just going to go out here each and every week from here on out and just play football.
