I bought my wife and mother-in-law (who is in her 80's) the EMBR Wave this Christmas. It's a large bracelet that heats/cools the bloodstream, effectively giving the wearer control over their own HVAC system. It's a bit bulky, not sure if there is an age where it's no longer comfortable to wear, but I figured my MIL could take it off and only put it on when she gets cold. I bought two of them when they dropped on sale for Black Friday, but I think you can regularly find them for around $240 or so.
First thing I'm going to do when she gets it on is go over to her thermostat and turn it down from around 85 degrees to 72, LOL.
