I have the same question about Golden. Maybe Gettleman is trying and they can’t agree on the numbers? Anyway, the Giants should keep trying. This team needs to not only start acquiring more talent, it needs to stop bleeding talent.

Maybe. I do tend to agree with you that Gettleman will be back, but other teams have kept GMs through the free agency period and even the draft before sacking them.

There is no logic to it - Shurmur's being fired because he's underachieved given the roster. You don't then turn around and fire the GM too. Logic caves in on itself.

I was one of those "idiots". Well not replaced, but I wanted competition. There was a ton of room for improvement after a middling 2018 season where his stats were better than his actual punting. Took a big step forward, happy to be eat crow on that.

Exactly, signing a punter to a contract with likely very little guaranteed money isn't a vote of confidence in future management.
If/when Gettleman is let go, literally no one will look back and say, "Shit, I am shocked. He signed the punter in December, didn't see this coming."
