Drew Lock is an easy guy to root for. Looks the part in terms of arm strength and athletic ability.

Cannot reward a defense for a targeting penalty that probably momentarily knocked Cook out. I can see what you are saying, but if you are going to call targeting penalties, you cannot let the penalized team benefit from it.
The plays they run and the play calling makes the
Giants look like a High School team Niners
not to shabby either .
I can't wait until they shit can Un-Shurmur
To think we had Sean Payton at one point . Uhg
That Cook TD was bullshit....yeh it was penalty but what does that Â
I watch Ryan Ramczyk play, I think of how clueless Jerry Reese was as a general manager and talent evaluator. This organization talent evaluation and player development has contributed to its bottom of the barrel status.

So you're saying because he was targetted, it's still a TD tho he dropped it? I wouldn't agree with that
Unless they took out having to hold on to the ball while going to the ground, that's always been a drop in the past. Whether or not he got hit illegally wouldn't change the call (tho apologies if I misunderstood your post)
RE: That Cook TD was bullshit....yeh it was penalty but what does that Â
On the face of it, if you allow the defense to target players and only get a PF when the penalty likely knocked Cook out, then you are granting the defense a huge gift.
I think players should be tossed for targeting like they do in NCAA.

I think it was a TD and the targeting did cause him to lose the ball. Yes that is what I said. You cannot let the defense make an illegal play and reward them for doing so.

If he didn't catch the ball, it's not a TD. Can't say 'well, he would have held on IF there wasn't targeting' - that's never happened b4 to suddenly do it now. And would be a real subjective methodology, and a real slippery slope
Bunch of cousins gathered to watch the Browns-Bengals game. Tiki Barber is the analyst. He is terrible. Says nothing interesting or insightful. It’s amazing that so many words can convey so little information.
The game? About as good as you would expect.

I don't get this line of thinking at all. You know how many tds are prevented by defensive holding? Should we justbreward the offense with 7 pts instead of five years.

You don't get it? #1 it was a TD. #2 the DB went for Cook's head to dislodge the ball. They should be penalized for targeting for the purpose of injuring to prevent the TD.
I know that is not what the ruling was and it is not a rule. It is a personnel peeve of mine. Burfict is out of the league for hits just like that. My point is that giving the 49ers a PF and half the distance to the goal is not equal with what was done to Cook, who caught the ball, landed on his feet and as he fell over was coldcocked. So you are saying it is ok to wilfully knockout/injure a player to prevent a TD and then just get a 1/2 the distance to the goal against you...
I am, the penalty is worth preventing the TD, kind of like when you Â
get deep bad so just pull the guy down to prevent a td.
Clearly not the same is it? I agree with a holding to prevent being beat for a TD. I'm not even against a monster shot to the body to dislodge the ball. That was a clear intent to hit Cook in the head to dislodge the ball.
You guys know its windy as fuck in buffalo today righg. Â
I wonder if that poster will show up and claim he’s a young John elway again
No he won't appear again until Allen has a good game. He's very similar to Fanofthejets who disappears when the Jets lose but comes back as soon as they win a game or two.
No way that your 1st and goal on the Browns 2yd line and not continue to run with Mixon???!! Instead they try to throw the ball twice and get sacked for minus 8 yards.. They are trying to lose.
We might end up with the top pick, and if we do we'll have an interesting decision to make.
It would be great if the Giants had the #1 pick with Cincy picking 2nd. Cincy then panics that Miami, Detroit, Atlanta, etc tries to trade up for Burrow so they give the Giants their 2nd to move up 1 spot securing Burrow which would still allow the Giants to take Young at 2.

Jay, to my eyes Chase Young does not look like the slam dunk #2 overall. I don't have an alternative there, but he's no Bosa, and no Clowney or Peppers, to whom some have or had compared him to.

Decision? Gettleman will take Chase Young with 5 minutes remaining on the clock. Phone will be turned off.
If they could get a haul in return, I’d seriously consider. They need a lot
Top pick means leveraging Miami vs Cinci for Joe Burrow. We drop to pick 2 STILL get Young and pick up another high pick or 2.
There's no way DG would do that if we're picking #1 and he wants Young. "Don't get cute." He'll just take Young after five minutes are gone, and as someone said, the phone will be unplugged. Then he'll tell us how teams were only willing to offer a hot dog, pretzel, and a box of doughnuts for the #1 pick.

How often have you watched Young play? We see this every year, a prospect has a mediocre game and he is considered overrated by many and then he goes on to have a great career in the NFL. I am not saying that you are one of these people but there were a few who declared Young overrated due to yesterdays game.
judge Young anymore. He's probably protecting himself as much as possible because of injury. He also gets doubled a lot. But I understand that as a top five pick, he's expected to produce every week.
rule change in the off-season is by far the biggest fuck up the NFL has made in my lifetime. There is no reason they needed to change the rule, they needed to get better officials, not change the rule
lose this game that will be three of the toughest losses I've seen this year...
And now it may be one of the toughest losses of the year for the Saints.
Just had to tackle Kittle. Gardner-Johnson effed up the entire 4th quarter. We think our DBs suck? That guy single handedly gave the 49ers 10 points and a win in a 5 minute span.

Certainly came to my mind. Circumstances differed, and Kittle wasn't carrying three of them, but three Saints were mauling him and one had steady hold of the facemask. I'd say they were close to of a kind.
Just pointing out the NFL has randomly changed course on these reviews, which is ridiculous.
It should've never been introduced. Just another point of subjective debate which could go either way.
Initially nothing was overturned. Now you're seeing a few overturned here and there. I can't make heads or tails of it either. And you still have a lot of awful "defenseless receiver" calls being made. You have ticky tack holding on big plays called and then ignored during other parts of the game. You have clean hits on QB's being called personal fouls
The game has become far to complicated, too cumbersome for these refs
Dolphins at Jets - we want the Dolphins to win
Lions at Vikings - we want the Lions to win
Broncos at Texans - we want the Broncos to win
Bengals at Browns - we want the Bengals to win
Redskins at Packers - we want Washington to win
Overthrowing on every pass

Kickers are nailing 48 yard field goals down the middle. It's breezy, but it shouldn't been affecting a strong-arm QB that much.

A lot easier to coach with that quality of player on the field.

I love his raw skills, but I think I'd be enrolled in Bosley if he played for the Giants...
