If he didn't catch the ball, it's not a TD. Can't say 'well, he would have held on IF there wasn't targeting' - that's never happened b4 to suddenly do it now. And would be a real subjective methodology, and a real slippery slope
Bunch of cousins gathered to watch the Browns-Bengals game. Tiki Barber is the analyst. He is terrible. Says nothing interesting or insightful. It’s amazing that so many words can convey so little information.
The game? About as good as you would expect.

But agree to disagree, that's fine
I don't get this line of thinking at all. You know how many tds are prevented by defensive holding? Should we justbreward the offense with 7 pts instead of five years.

You don't get it? #1 it was a TD. #2 the DB went for Cook's head to dislodge the ball. They should be penalized for targeting for the purpose of injuring to prevent the TD.
I know that is not what the ruling was and it is not a rule. It is a personnel peeve of mine. Burfict is out of the league for hits just like that. My point is that giving the 49ers a PF and half the distance to the goal is not equal with what was done to Cook, who caught the ball, landed on his feet and as he fell over was coldcocked. So you are saying it is ok to wilfully knockout/injure a player to prevent a TD and then just get a 1/2 the distance to the goal against you...
I am, the penalty is worth preventing the TD, kind of like when you Â
get deep bad so just pull the guy down to prevent a td.
Clearly not the same is it? I agree with a holding to prevent being beat for a TD. I'm not even against a monster shot to the body to dislodge the ball. That was a clear intent to hit Cook in the head to dislodge the ball.
You guys know its windy as fuck in buffalo today righg. Â
I wonder if that poster will show up and claim he’s a young John elway again
No he won't appear again until Allen has a good game. He's very similar to Fanofthejets who disappears when the Jets lose but comes back as soon as they win a game or two.
No way that your 1st and goal on the Browns 2yd line and not continue to run with Mixon???!! Instead they try to throw the ball twice and get sacked for minus 8 yards.. They are trying to lose.
We might end up with the top pick, and if we do we'll have an interesting decision to make.
It would be great if the Giants had the #1 pick with Cincy picking 2nd. Cincy then panics that Miami, Detroit, Atlanta, etc tries to trade up for Burrow so they give the Giants their 2nd to move up 1 spot securing Burrow which would still allow the Giants to take Young at 2.

Jay, to my eyes Chase Young does not look like the slam dunk #2 overall. I don't have an alternative there, but he's no Bosa, and no Clowney or Peppers, to whom some have or had compared him to.
He's a very tough watch week to week.
He has stretches where he looks completely incompetent. And then he has stretches where he looks like a real threat.

And who would be playing left guard? Ereck Flowers? Lol. To each their own, he was thinking of retiring earlier this year

Sell to the highest bidder.

That was his problem in high school and college.
Something tells me as long as Gettlemen is the GM he wouldn’t find this decision very difficult at all.

Not anymore.

Lamar Jackson, everybody's all-World, is 5-10 for 30 yards and an INT.
Not anymore.
7-12 99 yards 2 td's, int
Decision? Gettleman will take Chase Young with 5 minutes remaining on the clock. Phone will be turned off.

If they could get a haul in return, I’d seriously consider. They need a lot
It's not that windy. He hasn't been close on almost any of his throws.

I envy that sort of coaching.

In all fairness, somebody dropped an easy throw that would have converted a third and eight. Buffalo had to settle for a FG.

Kickers are nailing 48 yard field goals down the middle. It's breezy, but it shouldn't been affecting a strong-arm QB that much.
