NGT: CB Jackson criticizes Fewell’s playcalling post RR fire

aGiantGuy : 12/9/2019 6:39 am
Perry Fewell took on playcalling this week after Ron Rivera was relieved of duty. Most Giants fans knew how that would go. Jackson didn’t stick up for or mention Ron in the interview but he did single out the play calling specifically. When asked if they had something to prove for Ron’s absence he replied that he plays for his teammates.

What this tells me is that RR at the very least would be much better than Bettcher and clearly better than Fewell in terms of play calling.
And how about Donte Jackson? Future trade target?

a player that bad mouths his head coach like that in media? This sounds like a guy that was really loyal to Rivera and may still be upset by him getting fired - which is fine, but despite your grievances with what the new coach does (in his first game taking over the job) you need to save those kind of comments for an appropriate time. Unprofessional.

Being a professional is also about being candid. This is a performance based business, when people make mistakes people lose their jobs.

Not all mistakes need to be made public but when your past HC is blamed for the teams shortcomings and they lose a game they probably would’ve won.. it’s clearly trying to send a message to ownership.

DG has rid the giants of anyone who speaks out to the media. The sole survivor is Jackrabbit. (Who most believe is gone after this season).

I would really doubt he’d go after someone who is outspoken. It’s 100% against his form.
Yeah, sounds fair

they can Rivera and make Fewell the interim HC what, 5 days after they lose to the Redskins? And this guy is trying to pin this loss entirely on Fewell.

He's probably a lot like Bettcher - an average coordinator who can be better or worse depending on the personnel.

I haven't seen any evidence Bettcher is even average.

His defense in Arizona was average to above average. He had some players to work with there though.
setting the bar for competency as Perry Fewell
