i noticed that. the horseshoe as well was foreshadowed in the 1st or 2nd episode when he yells at Cloned Adam.

in the first Episode when Mr Phillips and Ms. Crookshanks bring Veidt his first anniversary cake, Mr Phillips gives him a horseshoe to cut the cake, and Veidt says "I dont need that yet"
