Fantasy Football - Playoff Edition

Hope all of you guys playing your first week of playoffs did well. I am in a weird situation right now and feel like I'm way way way overthinking it.

I'm about to finish the Semifinal round of our playoffs in the league that I run. The round is two weeks long with total points from the two weeks determining the winner. I am currently up 207.26 to 204.88 with my opponent having no more players to play while I have one tonight. That player happens to be Saquon. Do I just bench him and chalk this up as a win? I don't think any kind of a points adjustment at this point will give my opponent enough points to beat me; however, what if it does? On the flip-side, the irrational part of me fears that Saquon will get a deep handful, get immediate hit, lose 6 yards, fumble, and get hurt, and I'll lose by less than a point.

Yes, this is totally irrational, but I went 12-0 and am playing the 4th seed team (6-6 record), so losing would not only knock me out of the run for the championship but will also be totally embarrassing.

Please tell me to suck it the f up and just play Saquon.
in my main league i'll finish

2nd in points in missing the playoffs, haha. Just a really annoying year despite my team having what I think is the best overall roster.

My work league i finished regular season 3rd and in the 1st round of the playoffs where i'm up 22 heading into tonight. I have Elliott and Eagles D vs his Barkley.
Shut the fuck up and play Saquon lmao
Saos1n : 12/9/2019 12:22 pm : link
If there is one thing that Eli does well, it is setting up the play presnap to put the offense in the best possible position from a blocking stand point. Saquon will have an average game due to matchup but will get plenty of opps to succeed

On a side note, I wonder if you did remove him, would you then have an illegal roster and risk losing by default
keep SB in so your worst case plays out (minor injury, nothing
giants#1 : 12/9/2019 12:27 pm : link
that can carry over to next season).

I'm up 38 in the quarters but my opponent has SB and Elliot (Eagles K).

Made the quarters in another league and I'm up 20 there with Jeffery left while my opponent only has Tate. Should be good with the Giants secondary...
nothing better than going 10-2, getting the #2 seed
GiantsLaw : 12/9/2019 12:33 pm : link
and throwing up a clunker in the 1st round of the playoffs.

That happened to our #2 seed with 10-2 record as well. He played the #3 seed, who led the league in points (worst luck team I've ever seen as he lost 5 games after scoring top three each of those weeks). It doesn't hurt that the #3 team has Lamar, Henry, Chubb, Julio, Gordon, and Edelman.

I'll be playing him next two weeks for the Championship game.

No...no illegal roster if you forget to put a player in.

And yeah, I'll play him. I have Saquon in another league where I'm the #6 seed, so I know he'll do well (I have to believe that). In that league (standard), I'm up 13 points with Saquon to play. My opponent has Ertz and Jeffreys. So hopefully I have enough cushion built in to take on our great D giving both players a ton of points...:(
Played 1st week of playoffs and had my highest score of the season

For the win. Good timing, I’d say. I was worried that because I finished 3rd and didn’t get a bye week, I could get knocked off and out of the money. Now, I’m in the semifinals and with a good chance for the championship. Fingers crossed.
I need 17 pts from the eagles defense and Elliot tonight

.
I now have a deep hatred for Russel Wilson
superspynyg : 12/9/2019 1:23 pm : link
1 td....that’s all i needed was 1 mother f&$#ing td from him.

MVP my left nut
bench him. you're in, adjustments would've happened already
Platos : 12/9/2019 1:52 pm : link
looks like i'm 1-1 in my 2 leagues. one team blew up with WInston on the roster.

my other team is currently trailing 25 with the eagles D left. he's got saquon left... could the eagles put up 3tds on D/ST while keeping saquon under 10???? doubt it.

sadly my team that won is limping. Mark Andrews, Dalvin Cook, Marlon Mack, James Connor, DJ Chark...ugh
oh and yes, Russell Wilson/Sony Michel screwed me in the losing league
Platos : 12/9/2019 1:57 pm : link
wilson not getting a single TD in garbage time killed but the OFFENSIVE GENIUS BOY WONDER Josh McDaniels couldn't figure out the chiefs run D is worst in the league so he ran michel 5 times in the first quarter and then apparently threw him in a dumpster somewhere in foxboro.

it really made no sense to me that they didn't give him a single carry the rest of the game. this was the one week i needed him to blow up. home vs a weak run D. WTF?
My advice?
allstarjim : 12/9/2019 2:07 pm : link
Don't play players that will get injured in the 1st quarter.

Hope this is helpful.

So you had Penny in too? This was the last week of the regular season for me, but I had Fuller V, Bell, Jacobs, and Engram out. Then Penny's injury happened. I'm the #2 seed next week going into the tourney more dinged up than ever.
Oddness abound

In one league, I have a 21.4 point lead and my opponent has Miles Sanders.

In another league, playing a different person, I have a 15.6 point lead and I have Darius Slayton going while he has Miles Sanders.

In the league I’m going for three straight league titles in vs. a completely different person, I am down 28.2 points (pass receptions are 2) and I have Miles Sanders.

Three legacy leagues,
rnargi : 12/9/2019 2:40 pm : link
1st round bye in one (6 team playoffs)

2nd seed in another (8 team playoffs) in which I trounced my opponent

5th seed in the third (6 team playoffs) in which I was the third highest scoring team. I got cute and started DJ Moore over Aaron Jones. I'm still up 17 but I'm going against Alshon Jeffrey tonight. I have a 50/50 chance of holding on.

Oh man...I just saw the scores in our league. You and I would have played this week if you would have won the round. I've lost two going into this round, as I've had a lot of injuries and underperformance. We'll see how it goes.

No, one more win and I would've had a 1st round bye, I would've had tiebreaker with the points.

I had Penny in both leagues that I lost in the opening playoff round. But in the league I'm in with RC I also had Mark Andrews, who also got hurt and left in the first quarter. Oh yeah, my opponent also had Aaron Jones, Joe Mixon and Michael Thomas. FML.

Then in the other league I was in the opening playoff game, and I had Penny as I said, but also Guice that left in the 2nd quarter. Ridley who left early...and then capped the night off with Russell effing Wilson screwing me again with an absolute dud.

The point differentials in both games in our league were pretty outrageous. That's why I normally run 4 team playoffs with 2 weeks per round starting in Week 13 to minimize weird fluke wins. I hate the idea of a team that played well all season losing because it had one bad game. Two games make the competition a bit more consistent.

Thanks for inviting me to the league. Hopefully I survive this week with how badly my players have been performing lately.

I kind of like that idea.
Looks like Ridley is done for the year
beatrixkiddo : 12/9/2019 4:59 pm : link
Any ideas who I should grab as my 2nd WR ROW?

I only have M. Williams as my other WR ( and Michael Thomas as my #1).

Available are guys like Anthony Miller, Gage, Perriman. Not sure what to do.

I like Williams right now. I may have to end up rolling with him myself next week.

With Ridley out, Gage is the guy you want. He's done decently with Jones out. Miller has to rely on Trubisky, who can be hot or cold too often to really trust.
I need a big game tonight from the Giants
Eli Wilson : 12/9/2019 7:51 pm : link
Need Barkley plus Tate to get more than 37 points in a PPR.
Holy fuck...
RC in MD : 12/9/2019 11:45 pm : link
I fucking hate the Giants.

Went into one of my playoff game leading 63 to 50 (low scoring for both of us). I had Barkley and he had Ertz and Jeffery. With Jeffery going out, I had the game in the bag. Going into the OT, I was up 69 to 65. Yep, that fucking TD catch by Ertz knocked me out with a final score of 69 to 71.

Talk about underperforming RB and a shitty fucking defense. Fuck the Giants.
