NFT: NBA Chat: Trae Young got into a heated discussion

nygiants16 : 12/9/2019 1:11 pm
in their locker room after a loss, was told by the Hawks management they would get help soon for him. according to shams
there second best player got suspended...
Italianju : 12/9/2019 1:17 pm : link
if he forces ownership to make a trade it would b a dumb idea. The team is young, he is young, let them build over time. Id be nervous now if im a hawks fan of a Hunter and Huerter for Kevin Love type trade is coming...

Do the Hawks really have that much young talent?

they traded taurean prince for basically nothing..

they have hunter and huerter..

Collins is a good player..

reddish seems to be picking up where he left off at duke..

evwryone analyst said they were going to have this great year and they have beem terrible..
Knicks would never do it
TyreeHelmet : 12/9/2019 1:26 pm : link
and the Hawks probably wouldn't either, but ATL has over 60 million in expirings. Take Randle, Morris and whoever else they want for some draft picks. They have an extra 1st from Brooklyn and OKC. Make it happen...
The prince trade was brilliant
Touchdown maker : 12/9/2019 1:27 pm : link
They were never going to sign him to an extension. Allen Crabbe is a usefull player for them the remainder of the year if he can get on the court and they got a top 20 pick in the 19 draft and have the nets pick this year as long as it’s not (it wont be) in the lottery.

How is that nothing?
Hard to pay much attention to the league as a Knicks fan
bceagle05 : 12/9/2019 1:38 pm : link
but just perusing the standings the Mavs and Heat really jump out as surprisingly good teams. Much credit to Spoelstra and Carlisle, two of the best coaches out there.

Cavs will deal Love soon and give the Knicks stiff competition for worst team in basketball.

Shit, they can have Randle, Portis and Ellington for free. Morris and Gibson can go for whatever too but I don't mind if they stay. I'd like to see Morris at the 4 next to Mitch. Like, can we try a lineup that's actually balanced a bit?

Starters
PG Frank
SG Dotson
SF RJ
PF Morris
C Robinson

Bench
PG Payton (DSJ once/if he gets his shit together)
SG Trier
SF Knox
PF Randle
C Gibson

I hope they move Randle and the 1 year rentals come next week (Dec 15) and give that playing time to Iggy and Zo but watch Mills and Perry make some stupid ass desperation trade to make things even worse :(

allen crabbe making 18.5 million and averaging 5 points is useful?

and it is going to be a late first..

they got nothing for a player that could really help you
not sure who thought the hawks...
Italianju : 12/9/2019 1:53 pm : link
would be good this year, its too soon for that. But with Young and Collins its a good start. Hunter has looked good and Huerter/Reddish are young players with some upside. Im not saying it works out, but they shouldnt be trading a bunch of picks and youth for a Kevin love type right now. And Young shouldnt be pushing for that.
Starting to see this in sports
ghost718 : 12/9/2019 1:56 pm : link
Guys establish themselves in their rookie year, and than in year 2,they use it to their advantage.

Not a good sign in my opinion

They were never going to resign prince. So getting two first rd picks for him was a great haul. Who cares what they’re paying crabbe for one year? When he gets on the court he’s useful, similar player to prince. If he never gets hurt they got two first rd picks for a guy they were going to let walk away. Great haul. The kind of move the knicks should have made instead of signing all the pieces of crap they did.
he is not remotely similar to prince

on the court.
the picks and the trade fine, to each team their own.
but they are not close on ability or upside.
And to think they could've had Doncic

The nets disagree. Offered crabbe more money than prince. Portland matched. What does prince do better than crabbe? Both are 40% 3
Point shooters. Crabbe is a better defender and everytime i see prince put the ball on the floor something bad happens. Hawks fans were not sad to see him go.

crabbe is a garbage player, he is nothing that taurean prince is..

they traded the pick they got from the nets to new orleans to get hunter..

this years nets pick will be a late first..

so unless they hit on this pick they got essentially nothing..
i would use the past....
hitdog42 : 12/9/2019 2:39 pm : link
the nets disagreed (past tense).... they also tried to give that money to tyler johnson...
crabbe never evolved- and thus was traded for someone that could/can evolve in the system.
Of course my Magic miss out on both him

Again, they got two first rd picks....one of which they used to obtain the 4th pick in the draft...so they got a valuable asset that helped them get the players they wanted.

And a late first rd pick is also an asset. You sound like a true Knick fan calling it nothing.

Tauren Prince and Crabbe’s numbers are essentially identical.

Not to mention crabbe on an expiring can be used to help facilitate a deal for another player if need be.

The nets did the trade because they needed to dump crabbes contract for Durant and Kylie. Temple made a lot of sense for them because they’d be able to obtain his bird rights and go over the cap to sign him (which they already did). I don’t think they think he’s a better player than crabbe but i’m Wiling to see it play out.

Not that I care about shipping Randle out, but I don't have much interest in Cam Reddish.

The Hawks do- very quickly. Sadly I think the Knicks would probably have to attach an asset to trade Randle now...
I am in no rush to trade randle
nygiants16 : 12/9/2019 3:17 pm : link
he is still only 25, on relatively cap fror ndly deal, i want to swe if the knicks get a point guard he can br a more effecient player

I'm not a fan of Randle but I do think he would benefit from a better coach and a decent point guard. However he doesn't really fit with Robinson. He's an undersized center that is a good roll man. But with Robinson on the floor, its clogged for both of them...

Kevin Huerter - the pride of NYS section 2 -

I wouldn't mind seeing Kevin play for a NY area team - Nets or Knicks - great kid, great family, easy to root for.

People do not like him for whatever reason i think he is the only pure point guard om the roster..him and randle played very well to finish the season last year
