Though I am not sure who would be interested. Not a lot of obvious landing spots for an old QB with diminished skills. To the extent there is a ready-made contender, I don’t think Eli would be first choice either. Hell, Tom Brady might be available. Otherwise there are a number of current backups or young guys who might make sense.
Would be happy if he found a home but I don’t see it.
him the best of course, but I can't see anyone wanting him as anything more than a veteran backup, and even then, he'd probably be too expensive for most teams.
Retire a Giant, he took a beating for many years behind shit scheme's and shit lines and handed us 2 titles but the choice is his and I guess if he can get millions to play another year I can't blame him.
Thanks for the memories Eli
Thanks for the streak
Thanks for the Lombardi's
And thanks for doing it all like a man and never complaining
There are a lot of QBs available in the draft this year and I would think those would be better options than Eli. You also have the potential for Drew Brees, Brady and Bridgewater as FAs among others.
The next few games will determine if Eli has any real shot next season as a starter. I highly doubt any team will offer him money as a starter but may have potential to go compete for a job with an incentive deal. He may not even get an offer unless a team loses a starter in camp.
He will likely have to settle for a mentors role Â
Perhaps the team that takes Tua will want Eli to start the season while Tua gets fully healthy and fully learns the offense.
Tampa Bay makes the most sense IMO. I would be very surprised if they bring Winston back.
Again...New England!!!!
Few teams would have interest in Eli.
If somehow, Brady were to shake free, Eli could be a bridge that Bill B. trusts.
Ya never know.
This actually makes a ton of sense. The Pats will believe they can still win and are NOT ready to give the job to Stihdman or any other rookie QB. I think Brady is done and is ready to be done.
**I also think OBJ could end up in NE as well.

That would be rich to hear the back-tracking by OBJ after throwing Eli under the bus. Please let that happen.
Gisele wants him to retire before his brains are scrambled
And the big one, he is having arm problems.
Having seen all the greats retire going back to the 60's, there are only two reasons the great ones hang it up: they start getting hurt all the time or their arms are shot. There is no 3rd reason.
I would not be in the least surprised to see Manning in NE next season or Pitt if Roethlisberger's arm issues don't heal completely. If I was to choose a dark horse, I would say Oakland because I don't think Gruden is particularly enamored of Carr and Gruden won a SB with Brad Johnson.

Have you seen the New England OL this year? If the Intel chip Brady can't move that offense, then there is no way an inferior player, Eli, makes ANY sense.
Though in truth I don't know that it makes much sense for anyone to consider him at this point.
Pretty sure that job is now Minshew's.
I can see Oakland or Tennessee as teams that could possibly win right away with a vet QB.
As unbelievable as the next 3 destinations might seem, I could see New England, Pittsburgh or LA Chargers depending on what happens with the big 3 QBs there.
I don't think it will happen, but I would pay money to see Eli start in New England.
Aside from the interesting bit of seeing what he would do under Belichick, it would be amazing to hear all the Patriots fans who have bitched about him being stupid lucky twice in the Super Bowl suddenly have to embrace him as their quarterback.
It would be like if Randall Cunningham or Tony Romo had ended their careers with the Giants, but magnified because those guys never beat us in a Super Bowl.

You'd only sign Eli with the motive to improve the OL, right?
It's obvious whoever QBs NE next year, they need to improve the offense. It's the weak link of their team right now, no doubts.

Yesterday was the first day I didn't see him zipping it around.
Maybe it was the type of passes, but he looked to be floating a ton of passes yesterday.

Sometimes, you lose it overnight.
Brady hasn't zipped it around at all this season the way he used to. If he hangs on one more year he'll be like Peyton in his last year
I don't think it will happen, but I would pay money to see Eli start in New England.

Those clown fans were booing yesterday heading into the half. Insufferable spoiled bitches don't realize how good they have had it. Their biggest problem is finding enough rafter space to hang the banners and a trophy case big enough to hold the hardware.
he's put up a ton of yards because the game has changed a bit in the last five years and Eli has played for a completely dysfuntional offense in that time period. The Bucs WR crew may be the best in the league. We don't know for certain but Arians prefers veteran QBs we can summise. He is a fit for the offense. If they invest in some DBacks that defense could carry an Eli led offense that features Godwin and Evans. I could serious see it happens if he'll play for 15 million or so. They'd need a little oline help to make feasible. Also do you know any good places to go for Army Navy game in area for a single guy in his 30's?
As noted above, there aren't a lot of places where he would be a fit. If he comes in and lights it up for the Giants before Jones comes back, that would make him somewhat more attractive, but still, you would need an offense geared to a pocket QB who essentially doesn't run at all. We'll see if he really has strengthened his arm, as advertised last summer. If he can still throw deep, he could work in a system like that.
But who are we talking about? No place else in the NFC East, though Eli would probably thrive in Dallas. NFC South? I think Tampa Bay might move on from Winston and want a bridge QB. I don't see it working in Carolina. Not Atlanta. New Orleans would be kind of a dream spot but I think Brees will outlast Eli in the league.
North? Not Green Bay, not Minnesota, Chicago isn't going to go that way, and I don't think Detroit is going to move on from Stafford to another veteran. Nobody in the West makes sense.
AFC East? New England? Yes, if Brady's gone and they don't feel they have their successor QB. Not the Jets or the Bills. Maybe Miami? I don't know why the Dolphins would do that. North? Pittsburgh? Maybe, I guess. The Rooneys and the Maras are tight, maybe that feels like family. Not Cleveland or Baltimore. Cincy if they move on from the guys they have and want to have their #1 pick QB sit for a while, but behind that line is not a good spot for Eli.
South: Jacksonville, as noted above, for a season or two. I don't see it with anyone else. West? Not KC. I think Denver thinks they have something in Lock, they're not going to sit him for Eli. Raiders are a long shot as noted above. Chargers, same.
But you know, if Kirk Cousins or one of the other less mobile starters tore an ACL between now and the end of the season, everything could change for Eli in 2020.
would be to wait it out.Injuries happen every year.He could find himself in a perfect spot in August or September when some contender loses their franchise QB for the season.
The last couple drafts and this upcoming one, so many highly touted QBs to give every QB needy team at least the thought that they have a young franchise QB, which will be given priority over a 38 year old even if he's better than them TODAY.
5 teams got one 2 years ago, only 1 is being given up on. The others the teams are committed to.
At least 3 last year, maybe 4 if you count Locke.
AND we could see 4 or 5 QBs drafted in the first round this year.
The only team that may be a suitor is Chicago who may go the Denver-Peyton Manning route and say all we need is a veteran QB as the final piece to get this team to the promise land. Get your quick one super bowl and go back to irrelevance. Then again maybe a Jake Fromm is sitting their for them and they think they can lock down a long term franchise QB with him. Because of that I'm not sure there will be a Broncos situation out there for Eli like there was for his brother. Sadly, just bad timing.
Do or die for him now, with Jones expected to miss several games
Would be happy if he found a home but I don’t see it.
Dolphins?
Bengals?
Steelers if they move on from Ben?
Colts if they move on from Brisett(sp?)
Panthers?
Thanks for the memories Eli

We are all guessing at what Eli is thinking and what will do at the end of the year.
What contender is out there that is going to hire past prime, 39 year old QB to be the starter?
The Bears will AT LEAST give Mitch another shot next year for year 4 of his contract.
Maybe Tennessee? But why wouldn't they want Tannehill and why would he leave? He's balling out there.
I don't see a spot on a "contender"
The next few games will determine if Eli has any real shot next season as a starter. I highly doubt any team will offer him money as a starter but may have potential to go compete for a job with an incentive deal. He may not even get an offer unless a team loses a starter in camp.

Tennessee also if Tannehill is asking for too much. Eli can settle for less. Ryan has to realize this is his last chance for a payday.
That makes no sense, given that Snyder basically hand-picked Haskins over the objections of his football people.

Doesn't Winston lead the league in TDs as well as INTs?? LOL
First year with Arians......you have to wonder if Arians feels he can still mold him into a more responsible QB after a year in the system.........

And anybody who thinks the Bucs are going to move on from Winston in favor of Eli is delusional.
Yes Winston is an INT machine, but he'll also throw for over 5,000 yards and 30+ TDs this year.
Eli has never thrown for over 5,000 yards (his top was 4,933 in 2011) and he hasn't thrown more than 30 TDs since 2015.
2015 (Winston's rooke year) is also the last year that Eli had a better QBR.
At the start of next season Winston will be 26 and Eli will be 39. The Bucs aren't "moving on" from Winston in favor of Eli.
Even if he did, I don't see a team signing a 39-year old, immobile QB to be their starter. I just don't.
Green & Silver...or
Blue & Silver...
I'll always be a fan of #10. The theory of him being w Pats is really intriguing, too
