After week 2. A week in which he played with Bennie Fucking Fowler and Cody Latimer as his starting receivers. No Sterling, No Tate, No Slayton but sure let’s make the decision to bench Eli after that game.
If Eli played this whole year we wouldn’t be great but we damn sure would have been in the NFC East race.
You want to waste this year? Thank God they played Jones.
It should have been a week 5 or 6 decision.
That month of starting experience isn't going to mean much in the grand scheme of things.
But now is not the time to be winning! There goes the chance for our top pick. *enter Dave gettledouche to draft a DT Or CB w pick no 7

A potential bust? Based on which of his 300+ yard 4 TD games exactly?
Slayton though...my god. Nice to (maybe) not have to worry about WR THAT much come 2020 draft.
Do me a favor and look up how many yards the offense put up week 1 and week 2. And then the following weeks. Get back to me ;-)
They paid Eli a shit ton of money for this year. Benching him in week two was just a tremendous waste of asset allocation. Inexplicable really. A reflection of how poorly this team has been run. He should have been given half the season at least.

This.
I watched the Giants lose to the fucking Jets. The same Jets that lost to the Fish and the Bengals. You make like beating Philly was a foregone conclusion.

Eli does look sharp. Jones looks like a potential bust. Probably bc they threw him to the wolves. Maybe this helps him learn from watching. Something they should have done at least another 6 games.

No.
I base it on his 700000 fumbles lost, inability to get rid of the ball, his penchant for losing, and now his inability to stay healthy for a season as a QB.
Yah def no signs of being a bust.

He has more wins this year than Eli
eli didn't have slayton the first two weeks, nor tate, and even though quadzilla was healthy buffalo has shown to have one of the best pass defenses in the league. tampa bay, jones' coming out party, has one of the worst.
im definitely not as high on jones as some are on this site but either way i think it's reasonable to say that benching eli after 2 games might have been premature.
Why? So you can satisfy whatever fetish you have? The team is in the middle of a rebuild and Eli is going to be 39 in 3 weeks. Learn to enjoy memories.

You’re worried about Jones’s fumbles so you wanted to keep the guy who has more turnovers than anybody in the league since he made his NFL debut?
Interesting hill to die on.

You forget that Eli wasn't playing all that great the first 2 weeks and looked old & past his prime

The asset allocation argument is about having kept Eli, not about having benched him. GTFO if you’re going to try to make playing Eli the sound fiscal decision.
Eli never should have been on the roster this year.
The Giants would have 1 win if Eli were the starter this year. He would have made zero difference in any of the losses. The Bucs game Giants never would have won without Jones
The entire transition has been handled poorly - from the GM to the coaches.
