but the Giants can't. Going to Jones was the right move because the team needed a rebuild. Not a reflection on Eli, but on the current state of affairs.
Solder is one of the biggest. Difference is they drafted a replacement Qb. It LT. Sitting Eli was fine. But watching Shurmur coz h this 2nd half makes it clear he just fucking sucks as bad as any coach the the Giants have ever had
absolutely was part of the problem. Not one person was the only problem. But if you dont think he was part of the problem you have no idea what the hell you're watching.
in the 2nd half, but also got sacked by the wind and made a few passes that allowed the DB to get their hands into the ball.
He had a great 1st half and a zero 2nd half. Combo of bad play calls, inaccurate passes and some drops.
Can't blame Eli, but did not get the job done. All he needed was one drive and a FG.
I don't think Jones playing in this game makes a difference Â
Shurmur took the ball out of Eli's hands in the 2nd half, and would have done the same to Jones. Having said that moving to Jones was the right move. The team is in rebuild mode.
What the fuck are you watching? Honestly are you fucking blind?
Curry went right past him, barely touched him and Eli tripped over his own feet spinning around(it was a nice spin)..are YOU fucking blind? How many QBs go down on that much contact. Get serious.
I think what Torrag is trying to say is that Pat Shurmur Â
very typical of Eli. First half, Good Eli; second half, Bad Eli. That's been the problem with Eli. When he's bad, he's really bad at the wrong time. His mobility was a restricting factor and cost the Giants the game.
is back to be blamed for these losses. The universe is in order again.
When someone starts a dumb fucking thread like this, what kind of reaction do you think is warranted?
The only reason why this rebuild is not farther along than it is currently is that they held onto hope for building around Eli one last time for far too long. It's not even an implication of Eli, just that you don't tear the whole thing down to the studs and rebuild your foundation around a QB in his late-30's.
That Eli has been physically declining and his lack of mobility exacerbated the OL issues definitely contributed to the problem, but the main issue was trying to patch the holes around Eli instead of just taking their medicine and rebuilding in earnest from the very beginning when DG took over at the end of 2017.
behind this mess. He's not the solution at QB going forward either, so it made sense to get a look at Jones (who very well might be the solution going forward).
Eli had a nice first half, but let's not forget this is an Eagles team that Ryan Fitzpatrick and the tanking Dolphins lit up for 37 points last week. The Dolphins also didn't have Barkley, Shepard, Tate.
I hope Eli's last few starts are full some dignity and some nice moments for him but his time as this team's starting QB is rightfully over.
Eli was OK in the 1st half and terrible in the 2nd Â
Jones is a better player at this point because he bring the running dimension to his game. they both turn the ball over a lot.
Trying to make this look like Eli had a good game is silly. He had a great throw to Slayton on the longer TD pass. the other was a routine play that Slayton broke a tackle for a TD. Eli did absolutely nothing in the 2nd half. He gave us zip when tied at the end. with no pressure he was serviceable, with pressure he was horrible.
I still doubt he plays in the NFL next year. i dont think anyone hates Eli, its just that his time has passed. Age catches us all.
and I'm also in the minority in that I believe he can still be a good QB in this league. However, I have absolutely no problem moving on to Jones when they did. Even if Manning was not the problem, he seemed to be part of it. Even if you believe he wasn't even part of the problem, he was no longer part of the solution.
They were looking every bit of the dismal team they've turned out to be. There were no realistic prospects of contending. If that's the case, then what benefit does it serve to start your 38 year old QB on the decline over your #6 pick QB?
And to be considered among the elite, he should have been. He should have raised up his teammates and made them better, and after 2011 he simply didn't.
And no one respects posts like yours.
Yep. And id call it a solid half. Stats are good, eye test says playing about the same as the previous 3 seasons.
Slayton should get some credit tonight too by the way. That was one hell of a half
Get over it.
We wouldve been no different than the browns for the last 7-8 years if it werent for Eli.

0%? Beat it, dep.
who gives a fuck? you were happy going 4-12 instead of 3-13 with manning playing?
ROOT FOR THE LAUNDRY.
NOT THE LETTERS ON THE BACK.
DID THE CAPS HELP YOU UNDERSTAND?

The same way Hal Hunter taught Nate Solder his bullfighting routine.
Eli lost his 4th Q magic a long time ago and yesterday was just a reminder of how frustrating he'd become.
1. Reese
2. Gettleman
3. Shurmur
