can’t believe I am still this livid after waking up

Essex : 12/10/2019 8:00 am
I am still so upset about losing to them. I don’t care what our record is, I hate that team and we had the chance to really be the ones to ruin their season. Do we? No! We reinvigorate it while there best players they had left were being carted off.

1. PS can never walk on our sidelines again, he must be fired today. He is a disgrace and a loser and he can’t ever coach for us again. Three weeks is too long to wait.

2. I have defended Gettleman for two years. No more. Solder a disaster and that was his solution to fixing the one thing he was tasked with immediately doing. Two years later we have a guy that is basically as bad as Erik Flowers. Halapio sucks. Hernández is regressing. At Tackle we are basically back to zero. Unreal after two years. But we have Saquon. Great.

This is a disaster that needs to end now and they need to get a modern era football operations going here
You know what makes me the most angry?

How angry I am about it. Thats what makes me angry, how much i care about it makes me angry.

I feel like that person in an abusive relationship that keeps going back.

It's because it was the Eagles. And because Eli was playing for one of the last times against the Eagles.

And the fact that this game was as good as won if we could just gain, I don't know, maybe five first downs in the second half.

If Mara doesn't blow it up after this mess, we're screwed.
The team needs to take its medicine before it can get better

It was for the best.
I cannot believe I am waking up dreaming about what went wrong
Essex : 12/10/2019 8:05 am : link
For a 2-10 (now 11) team. To see that freaking fanbase two years in a row all but dead and to have us revive them in the second half is just terrible. I hate Shurmur and I think hate is a really strong word

+1 .... but posting this site is therapeutic ...the sun is shining, the temp is in the 60s, at least here in NC. Life goes on. Cheers.
Good thing

We took a running back over Nelson or Bradley chubb
Eli played well
UberAlias : 12/10/2019 8:12 am : link
That was good to see. When the smoke clears Eli will be remembered for his greatness, IMO. It just may take some time. But Shurmur going on a winning streak against three bad or otherwise crippled teams to end the season... now that is exactly the sort of excuse Mara would jump on to do the wrong thing and retain him. No thanks.
I have no faith that Mara will make the correct moves

To turn this team around in offseason
I don't care anymore.
SFGFNCGiantsFan : 12/10/2019 8:14 am : link
I'm going to be in Jersey this weekend & was planning on going to the Fins game. I spoke with cousin after the game & we decided we're going to pass.

This team sucks. Ownership sucks. The GM sucks. The coach is a F'ing joke. The roster blows.

Yeah

I became emotionally invested in last night's game too. I wanted that W. I was watching the team for comedix relief aonxe this losing streak prior to last night. Expecting losses and laughing at how bad the team is.

I am a sucker that is for sure. How bad is this HC? It's unreal.
Honestly in a weird way
Thankyoueli : 12/10/2019 8:23 am : link
It felt kinda good just to FEEL SOMETHING again.
i feel fine today
markky : 12/10/2019 8:24 am : link
it's very weird to not care at all that they lost. not even a little bit.

i was excited and yelling during the game, wanted them to win, but as soon as the Eagles had the ball in Giants territory down only 1 score it was over. and it was "eh, so what".

i can see a better team just over the horizon. i feel like it's coming and it won't be long at all. we have some young talent, we have some major weaknesses to correct and i think it will get done.
I was kind of blah about it last night
mfsd : 12/10/2019 8:29 am : link
but admit that I woke up more pissed off...and depressed.

Eli played a strong first half. Exactly what we hoped for. Who cares if the Eagles are depleted, that was fun to watch.

To then see the Giants go lifeless and essentially watch the Eagles finish their inevitable comeback was agony. In slow motion. The inevitability of it was the worst part.
a Win does nothing
uther99 : 12/10/2019 8:30 am : link
a loss helps get rid of Shurmur and the draft. I couldn't care less
I like Duggan's take

From the Athletic

"In the most pragmatic sense, Monday’s result was ideal for the Giants. Fans got treated to one more Manning start, the Giants played hard and, most importantly, they lost. A win would do nothing beyond lifting spirits for a few days. But a loss kept the Giants in sole possession of the No. 2 pick in the draft.

The Giants are one game behind (ahead?) of the Bengals in the race for the top pick. If the teams tie, the Giants should get the No. 1 pick due to the strength of schedule tiebreaker. As painful as these losses are in the short-term, it’s better for the long-term to get the highest possible pick to bolster the rebuilding effort."
Got to be honest I'm not even that mad
buddyryansux10 : 12/10/2019 8:33 am : link
Maybe its my numbness, but this wasn't unexpected. Also looking at the bigger picture, it seems historically that positive, truly effective change for this team mostly seems to happen after a gut punching loss to the Philly. ( Miracle at the Meadowlands in '78 bought us Parcels and the 80"s era, DeShaun Jackson punt return in 2010 was followed by a SuperBowl in 2011 ). At least that's my hope.....
You just know if they won last night
Model4001 : 12/10/2019 8:34 am : link
Mara would be dancing and crying and re-signing Eli for another 3 years.

This should hammer the point home to ownership that NOTHING will change if they don't cut ties with their past and this sentimental keep-it-in-the-family bullshit and completely clean house.
Yup, the same.
j_rud : 12/10/2019 8:35 am : link
Said it last night, I allowed myself to get sucked into the moment despite being mentally/emotionally checked out of this season for a month and a half. Eli playing in Philly one more time, chance to derail the Eagles season, the beautiful chorus of boos raining down in the first half.

I totally bought in to wanting that win. And wanting it bad. And then Shurmur and Co pulled the rug out one more time. 5-19 against the Eagles since 2008. Makes me want to scream.
I will share a secret......
George from PA : 12/10/2019 8:41 am : link
Although, it started by accident ....as I had to help my daugther during the Cowboys game 4th qtr.

But I basically stop watching after the half.....these games feel so much better.

My memory if of a dominate defense and Eli of old.

I knew after the half time adjustments....we would suck.
I will not see another 2nd half until Shumur is gone

Duggan's right
LG in NYC : 12/10/2019 8:44 am : link
this was best case scenario... a couple of good moments for Eli, a decent half of football.

and we lost, in the way we do, to a division rival on National TV. Hopefully furthers the goal that our ownership will be shocked into major changes that go beyond just the HC.

Nothing good would have come from winning last night.
Maybe I've become de-sensitized to this mess
aimrocky : 12/10/2019 8:46 am : link
but I'm not hurting one bit. That first half was the most exciting Giants football I've watched since 2016. The implosion was the best of both worlds... I got to see Eli love on a national stage one last time, and the implosion should cement Shurmur's ouster (and hopefully Gettleman) and kept us in prime draft position. It would have been nice to knock the Eagles out of playoff contention, but I'm only worried about the Giants future, and a loss was better.

Exactly what I just wrote. I'm OK with how last night played out.
Perfect scenario
Jolly Blue Giant : 12/10/2019 8:48 am : link
Is we clinch a top 2 draft pick before the next Eagles game. Then we eliminate them!
what makes me angry is how apathetic I've become to losses
Greg from LI : 12/10/2019 8:48 am : link
Because they are now as natural as the sun coming up in the morning. This is what the Giants have become.

Let's just hope that something positive comes out of this mess and we get a real housecleaning throughout the entire organization: front office, coaching staff, scouting department, roster, the whole nine.

It never made sense to draft a running back at #2. This isn’t an I told you so. I felt that way when the selection was made, I felt that way after his great rookie season, and I feel that way now.

But it doesn’t matter anymore where he was drafted. He s obviously a talented player and could should be an important cog in the team s success going forward.

What s important now is the coming off season. Get the coaching staff fixed get the Online fixed get an edge rusher

There are players on this team that when surround by other better players / leaders can be winning players.

Barkley is a Giant, doesn’t matter where he was drafted. I believe they have their quarterback, it. Luke turn around sooner than many here believe with the right moves.
Why are you angry?
BigBlueWC : 12/10/2019 9:03 am : link
Haven't you come to expect this? When it comes to Giants football, I've been devoid of emotion for years now. Numb.
