When did the NYG become such an insular organization?

V.I.G. : 12/10/2019 9:02 am
We hired Ernie in '94 as assistant to Young, as heir apparent, taking over in '98. Although they both had ties to the Colts, I don't believe they overlapped.

Young - outside hire
Ernie - outside hire
Jerry - internal promotion
Gettleman - roundabout internal promotion
Abrams - heavy speculation he's the next internal promotion

Why? When did the NYG become an organization more fixated on their own staff and less about recruiting in the best management talent league wide?

Good companies understand there must be a constant focus on the development and acquisition of human capital. I just don't get the sense that the NYG are a good company in that regard. Does anyone recall the last time a NYG front office guy was poached by another team?

and the lack of responses, that we are all at a loss for words. There were threads last week that pointed out the failure rate of businesses where the 3rd generation is in charge. I think this has major relevancy here.

As the NFL is a cash cow, Mara is making a ton of money even when the team loses. The value of the franchise keeps climbing. It's good times for him and his cronies. Seems his income is guaranteed. We'd like him to give us a better team, but am guessing he'd rather fill his days counting his cash.
