Wentz was nearly sacked and threw an incompletion. Would have been second and ten. Out of nowhere Williams came up from behind and threw a forearm into CW's chest after the play.
Before that 15-yard penalty Philadelphia had been completely inept on offense. After it they accepted the penalty drove the field and score a TD and moved the ball smartly for the rest of the game.
It's the kind of invisible play that often goes unnoticed. But this stupid cheap shot penalty is a bright before-and-after line. It's the kind of play that losing teams make. Instead of letting sleeping dogs lie, they wake up an opponent and give it a sense of focus.
Could I be reading too much into this? Sure. In a 60-minute there are hundreds of factors that produce an outcome. But there is no questioning that there were two Eagle offenses on display last night. The one before the cheap shot and the one after.
Williams is SO awesome, though. Without him, we wouldn't have held...ummm...*checks boxscore* Boston Scott to a mere 59 yards on 10 carries!
+1
That play by Williams was stupidity. Anyone who dismisses it dismisses the fact that had the game been tied right then or we were trailing and needed a big stop, a play like that changes everything. Smart teams do not beat themselves. Dumb teams literally go out of their way to prevent themselves from winning.
The turning point was 2018.
Schurmur is awful.
All in all losing was the best option for us. We can still win one of our last 3 and stay at #2. We may lose out and have a shot at #1. We've got the Dolphins, Redskins & Eagles.
Much better......that ball was there for the taking. I’m not sure if someone knocked it out of Goldens hands.

but lets face it, there was a lot of football to play after that. How about the play where Williams bats the ball in the air and if Golden just catches the ball we are in field goal territory. That would have won the game in regulation.

Or when Jackrabbit jumped the screen and should have picked off the ball for an easy 6 points.
