That wasn't the time or situation to do it - and it wasn't executed well either.

have to say about Shurmur. I agree players have to make plays, but Shurmur repeats the same mistakes week after week after week. Zero feel for the game, zero half time adjustments, no clue on time management or how to scheme his best player (Barkley) open. At least we didn't have the usual desperation challenge last night. Shurmur may be a nice guy and an adult but a loser head coach.

But if the players executed the play properly it goes for 6. Cant argue with that

blown assignments, poor fundamentals (abysmal tackling), lack of situational awareness (12 men on the field penalty yet again!) and general mailaise surrounding the team is absolutely, 100% on the coaching staff. Not just Shurmur and Bettcher - all of them.

and they didn't really show the receivers in the replays, so how do you know he was wide open for a TD? I do know that the down and distance and point in the game made little sense for that call. The lack of blocking made it a miracle that we even completed the shovel pass to Barkley. I don't love the MNF announcers, but they never mentioned Tate being open. They did, however, question calling a flea flicker on 3rd and 14 when the D was sitting back and had no reason, given the Giants running game, to worry about crashing the LOS.

to know that last nights game, or any game left, shouldn't decide his fate. So if they pulled it out last night, he should still be gone.

With that being said, 30 other coaches put in his place more than likely have this team hang on and win last night. He made no adjustments at half time and let Pederson take him to school.

You don't run a FF from the Shotgun draw because the DE's are allowed to run the arc to set up the draw. Inevitably when the ball is flicked back to the QB the DE is going to be right there. And he was. There is a reason you don't see that play run from that formation.

winning teams make. We are a loser and losers always make stupid mistakes. What did Parcells say "Dumb players do dumb things".

We are exactly who we are...we are a losing team, a terrible team and someway, every game, we will do something stupid to lose the game. This is not rocket science...we lose because our coaches are losers and make dumb calls. We lose because our players gather that and likewise do stupid things that cost games.

That's the way it is throughout the league.

Executed properly? Go back and watch it again. First off, no way was this working, period. Barkley turns around and tosses the ball to guy already about to be tackled. The play was blown up from the beginning. You don't run plays like that in obvious passing downs as the DE's are already heading up field! Stupid call period!

continues to baffle me. Running Barkley continually between the tackles baffles me. The inability to get him the ball in space continues to baffle me. I know I'm easily baffled but...
