The guy probably makes 7 figures for a few hours of "work" a week.

Cowher's name would be mentioned. I think that ship sailed ten years ago.

than Ron Rivera who a lot of people here seem to want. Age isn’t an issue. Being out of coaching for so long might be.

the game is different than when he coached. No doubt he is an excellent coach, the worry would be his ties to the game. He is going to need solid coordinators, does he still have any connections?

Its an avenue to explore because he is a tough coach which we need. I would prefer to go younger for an up and comer who knows the current game better.

For too long, not too old, but who is he going to be able to bring with him at this point. I like him a lot, but that ship has sailed I believe.

Half of BBI's "dream scenario" is to bring in Norv Turner as OC and Marinelli as DC (if/when Garrett is fired). Both guys are almost 70 years old and never won a super bowl. I don't know why everyone is intent on bringing in guys who couldn't win a super bowl in their intellectual prime, much less 20 years later when the game has clearly passed them by.

At least Cowher won a damn super bowl as a HC. But still, yeah, let's get some new ways of thinking into this franchise, not necessarily go young with the entire staff and FO I'm saying, just enough to clear the smell of mothballs out a bit.

Team him up with 80 year old Bill Polian.

He's been away from the coaching game for about a decade now, if he wanted back in he'd be in by now.

for those that dismiss him outright because of his age. Dick Vermeil was about the same age and had been away from coaching for just about as long when the Rams hired him to be the HC, so it's not entirely unprecedented.
