Been following all day from police radio and via reddit -- story at the moment is that it wasn't a drug deal, it was an undercover who recognized the asshole pieces of shit from a previous homicide investigation. went to question them and got shot in the head. they then went around the corner, about a mile away point to point but really a handful of blocks down the corner, randomly got into a bodega, killed 3 of the 4 people inside, and then barricaded themselves and shot at police from 12:30 to 4.
suspected pipe bombs in the stolen u-haul -- NYPD bomb squad came and helped to clear it, and it was taken for further testing.
i don't think it was a drug deal at all - the semi auto rifle alone shows it wans't a drug deal. nobody brings a semi auto rifle to a drug deal in jersey city. the potential pipe bomb, if it really is one, only shows that there was something far different than a drug deal going on.
