Where do you have the Giants drafting? It's not so complicated, considering there are 3 games left. Here's the tool that lets you do it (assuming the Giants don't win out).
NYG at 2-14
=======================
NYG pick #1 if CIN wins a game
NYG pick #2 if CIN loses out
NYG at 3-13
==================
For this case I am making the simplifying assumption that NYG pick earlier than MIA in case of a tie. (There would have to be 17 out of 21 games going a certain way for this not to happen). With this assumption, it doesn't matter which team they beat.
NYG pick #1 if CIN wins 2 or 3 games.
NYG pick #2 if CIN wins 0 or 1 games.
NYG at 4-12
===============
For this case I’m making the simplifying assumption that CIN loses to NE, so Giants can’t get #1. Also making the simplifying assumption I made for 3-13 above.
Start giants at #2.
If NYG beat WAS, add 1 if WAS loses to PHI and DAL.
If NYG beat MIA, add 1 if MIA loses to CIN and NE.
(NYG has to beat WAS or MIA to get to 4-12, so have to consider at least one of the two statements above.)
Add 1 if DET loses out (playing TB, DEN, GB)
Add 1 if ARI loses out (playing CLE, SEA, LAR)
Possibly add 1 if JAC loses out and NYG lose tiebreaker (unlikely).
So your answer would be #1 at best and #6 (maybe #7) at worst.
I'd guess 1 more win for the Giants, and 1 win from CIN, so
that would be #2.
I could see them losing to Miami but with Guice out in Washington I think they'll win that one.
Assuming the Bengals will have the number one pick
and takes a QB guessing Burr we run to the podium
and select Chase Young I don't see the Bengals trading
down nor will we !
But my buddy is a long time Bengals fan and he is hearing they love Chase Young.
But even at two and Young gone....we could easily trade back to a QB hungry team and get a haul of picks and maybe even a stud player as well.
NE....loss
Miami....slight underdog on the road
Cleveland....I think they are home for this....it’s possible
Giants:
Miami.....toss up
Skins.....On road, Skins defense playing well may have advantage
Eagles.....depends on importance to Eagles
Washington:
Eagles.....toss up, skins D much better than NY
Giants.....skins slightly favored at home, better defense
Cowboys.....depends on importance to Dallas
Miami:
Giants.....toss up on road
Cinci.....slightly favored at home
Pats.....probably loss on the road
Bottom line:
Cinci won’t win a game, thus pick 1
Giants probably win 1 of last 3, pick 2
Miami..probably win 1-2 more games, pick 3 or beyond
Washington, wins 1-2 games, pick 3 or beyond
Disclaimer: Detroit and Arizona also have 3 wins, but because they have a tie, Giants would have to win 2 more to pick after them assuming they lose out, which they could.
And also because I think Cincinnati beats Cleveland later on this month, just because.
First we end up at #1 when the Bengals beat the Dolphins and we end up tied 2-14 and get the first pick in the draft.
We trade the #1 pick in the draft for multiple 2020 and 2021 picks (including two 1st rd picks in 2020 and one in 2021).
compensation- 2-2020 1st Rd picks, 1- 2020 3rd rd pick, 1- 2021 1st rd pick and 1- 2021 3rd pick.
Trade partners to be either Jacksonville or Miami but don't discount Chicago.
Philly should beat us easily the second time around.
That leaves the Washington game to decide our fate. I'm nervous that the dynamic duo of Haskins and Peterson might gift us another victory.
My guess is we get the 5th pick and it makes me sick.

I really don't understand this mindset. I would love to have Chase Young as well, but he's not the only player in the draft. If they end up at 5 and pick the best tackle in this class, how is that not something to be happy about?

By the best tackle in this class isn’t a sure fire impact player and franchise player like young is?

I'm not sure what you mean. Chase Young isn't an OT. My point was that the world won't end and the Giants can still move in a positive direction if they don't end up with Chase Young.
Sounds about right.
2018: #2
2019: #6
2020: #2
THAT’S what is wrong!

Flores will coach circles around Shurmur and even without Parker will have his team outplaying the Giants. Hell, we got beat by a team with no WR's last night.
I'm only worried about the Washington game and to me that's a toss up but I do believe Callahan will also outcoach Shurmur.
