I can't remember a time when the Eagles haven't had above-average running back play from multiple contributors. I know its been beaten to death but watching Boston Scott play just fine for a team that is obviously better than us in several other areas really brings the point home that the Barkley pick is still difficult to justify.
Yes, he is generational and we all love him. But look at the counterexample of a team that is better than us because of how they have alotted value across the roster, and they aren't having any trouble at the running back position either. Refresh my memory, when was the last time Philly used a 1st rounder on a RB? Because I remember them being pretty darn good at the position for the past twenty years or so.
At this point, when the team is so bad, I don't think we can put the Barkley pick in the plus column for Gettleman.
Maybe skip and spin to 125.
