Jackrabbit PFF Grade

Touchdown maker : 12/11/2019 11:07 am
Since week 3 he’s the 7th rated cornerback in the NFL and has not allowed a touchdown.

Not only was this tweeted out by PFF By Jenkins is tweeting about it with fans including calling one a retard.

Gotta keep this guy. Unless we can get a second round pick or better. Need to add to the secondary not subtract.
he's highly rated because there
NorthCountryGiantsFan : 12/11/2019 11:09 am : link
is no reason to test him when Baker and Ballentine are near 100% success rates. Doesn't mean jackrabbit is any good, just means there are easier options around him. His effort sucks, his attitude sucks, and I can't wait for him to be gone.
why throw it rabbit's way

when you can throw at Beal, Baker and Ballentine?
Beal Baker and JackRabbit
Chip : 12/11/2019 11:10 am : link
will be fine at CB next year with the experience of playing this year for the Rooks and 10 mil for Jenkins is a reasonable contract.

On another not PFF is crap

I don't mind him calling out a fan for being stupid, but shouldn't have used the R word

Dont contribute to the hyper sensitive pc culture.

If you wanna say its inappropriate for a professional that's fine, but dont call it "the R word" (at first I thought you meant rape) as if it's some bombshell.

FFS I'm a millennial and even I will tell you that adults need to relearn to get comfortable with hearing things that might offend their delicate ears for no reason at all (just wanna be outraged about something).
Take PFF with a grain of salt

JJ is a solid corner for sure, he starts on most teams and is one of our best players on D, but he isn't a top 7 corner in the league.

PFF fails to take things into consideration like the rest of our defense being swiss cheese, meaning QBs fail to attack him. Or even plays where his gut beats him, but the person Haley was defending was wide open, so the ball went there instead.

And I'm not touching his comment to the fan, I'll just let that stand for itself
Check out his INT numbers since joining the Giants

No one that comes to mind in the last 20 years has been better... keep him if you can, not at the expense of acquiring/paying a top tier tackle.

2016: 3 INTS (DPOY candidate)
2017: 2 INTS
2018: 2 INTS
2019: 4 INTS (3 games left)

+ He ended Dez's career... lol.
He's..
FatMan in Charlotte : 12/11/2019 11:38 am : link
been much better this year than last season, but how much of that is improved play over QB's targeting other options?

Quoting PFF really isn't making a case one way or another. He's put out some terrible effort plays and was torched in the early going this year and has also had some very good pass defenses and coverage.
He's an outstanding player.
mittenedman : 12/11/2019 11:41 am : link
The Giants seemed to have found a lineup that was finally producing some tight coverage.

Baker & Beal outside
Jenkins in the slot
Love & Bethea at S

I'd keep JackRabbit in the Sam Madison/R.W. McQuarters role. I like having some versatile vets in the D-backfield.
Jenkins' problem isn't really his coverage
Gmen24 : 12/11/2019 11:44 am : link
it's everything else. He might be the worst tackler I have ever seen. He is clearly afraid of contact and gives piss poor effort play after play.

He seemed to snap out of it for the 1st half of the Eagle game though, but by the 3rd Qtr it was business as usual.
He's a good player...
Metnut : 12/11/2019 11:53 am : link
maybe not an elite corner, but he's been a good one. In this lost season, he's still going out there each week and playing with pride.

I'm surprised that we wern't able to get anything for him trade wise given CB need around the league. Given all of the cap room that we have, I think we're probably better off just keeping him for 2020.

exactly
He is a good player
Dankbeerman : 12/11/2019 1:04 pm : link
I wouldnt rush to sign him if he was free agent but I wouldnt cut him either. Also no worth trading unless its for a top 50ish pick, which I would give up for him.

He is perfectly in limbonplaying out his contract giving solid contribution and if we need every last penny to get someone better we can cut him if need be
He takes a lot of shit here
JoeyBigBlue : 12/11/2019 1:12 pm : link
But ever since that Mike Evans ass whooping, he’s been pretty good. Both in coverage and against the run. We could do a lot worse than him out there.
I would keep Jackrabbit for his final year
Vanzetti : 12/11/2019 1:48 pm : link
He is a bit whacky and does not like to tackle. But he can still cover and I think he provides mentorship for the young DBs.

Giants will also get a comp pick if they let him play out the final year of his contract.

If they do cut him, they have to sign another vet corner because these young DBs will be a disaster if left without an onfield leader
The Giants are
M.S. : 12/12/2019 4:33 am : link

A giant embarrassment for numerous reasons.

But Janoris Jenkins ain’t one of them.

He’s among the best players we have!

Agree. And Baker’s been improving. Slot corner’s the real problem.
