How many things are posted here on BBI (and anywhere) weekly where people are way over the top, shamed, embarrassed ... you know what I mean? And we wish they'd just face it and laugh, because that's what it deserves.
This young woman - who was called out, made fun of, or whatever she was, hell I don't even know what it was other than fucking stupid - appeared on Today (today) ... and she has such a great attitude about the whole thing.
I love that she cracks up watching the ad - PLUS appearing with Ryan Reynolds on his gin ad (I guess he owns a distillery?) - BONUS!
Pretty cool the way she (and they) are handling the whole thing. I hope this leads to good things for her. She seems very down-to-earth.
Take note, rest of the drama queen world! This is how you deal with stupid shit very well.
Here's the appearance (also with Ryan Reynolds) on Today this morning. - (

Absolutely!!
I agree. I was trying to find out who she was. Now I know.

Was it cheesy? Absolutely. But misogynistic, promoting abuse, etc.? People need to get a life.
Yeah, that was weird. It's a pretty stupid ad, but the reactions were so ridiculously overheated.
I haven't seen the reactions and in this day and age of assigning the most absurd intent possible to everything, I can only imagine they were silly as fuck.
But... so is that ad. Having nothing to do with Ruiz, she can only play the part written for her.
Yeah, they know that and don't care. I'm not buying a diamond ring anytime soon but I see commercials all the time. It's a commercial for people who have thousands of dollars to spend on an exercise bike. I don't, that doesn't mean they shouldn't have ad campaigns.
What about maintaining physical fitness for herself and the satisfaction of meeting a new challenge? What if she asked for the bike? There are so many other ways to look at the ad. You have to read way into it to make it problematic. She's already fit, probably likes to exercise. What in the world is wrong with encouraging that?
Yeah, because we witness a miraculous physical change in the ad right? Oh yeah, the fact that she started out thin is most people's #1 criticism. Sorry, that doesn't add up.
The only way to affect real change in yourself is to do the work. You can do that at the free gym in your apartment or you can do it at a boxing gym or even on a 2k bike. Still can't find anything to be offended about here.
nope, people who choose to workout like to workout. Target audience are people who like to workout who sometimes cant get to the gym to do what they like to do.
Heavier/overweight people who workout, typically dont like to workout and need a gym atmosphere to be motivated to workout.
FYI I usually lift 3-4 days a week and do a 15 min cardio warmup pre-lift on a bike machine. I fucking love it, Peloton is intriguing buy for me
Without knowing that couples relationship dynamics, you can't get offended at the purchase of a bike as a gift
Snurging - ( New Window )
The day BBI jumped the shark, when they were more concerned about Twitter reactions to an ad than they were about pictures of hot actresses and how they could find better looking women on the street any time of the day.

She's married and has 2 children, so you can stop slobbering over her.

You fucknuts have debated this for this long, and not one picture of the actress.

Wait, we can only slobber over the hot actresses who are both available and might plausibly be interested in us?
I hate to break it to you, but that's going to put a slight kink into that BAU process.
yes.. .and cancel culture. Individuals with no true purpose in life.
Would love to be a fly on the walls of their empty minds when they are on their death bed thinking about what they have done with their lives.
lol
Chained to the basement radiator next to Molly Pan, yep

just saw this. 100% agree.
modern society certainly has it's faults but i'd like to understand what era of it you find so great, and then evaluate that one.

How about a time when people were accountable and didn't blame society for their lot in life? The fact people are offended by this commercial is comical and pathetic. Did it ever occur to people that perhaps riding a Peloton is a way of staying heart healthy? Everyone is encouraged to have 30 minutes of physical activity per day to stay healthy. But there is not any discussion of the benefits; just the offensive stereotypes that people like to point to in an effort to push their agenda.
I find the ad stupid, but not even worth consideration for any sort of debate or discussion...

what time was that, specifically?
Can you imagine just riding your Pelaton while downing a 12 pack of Keystone Light?
Fuckin weirdo's..

pre social media. Given you joined in March 2019, i'm going to conclude you are in your early 20's and current society is all you know. Not a judgement, just a statement. When you hit your 40's, you will make comparisons, and draw conclusions; it's natural.

Meh, that’s the peloton brand - their clients swear it’s made an emotional and physical impact on their lives. I think the negativity of the ad would be worse if the wife was fat, etc
At first rumor was some of the big gyms started this campaign but talk about brand awareness... this is exactly what an advertiser dreams. Granted the overall market is up past few weeks but the stock which IPOd in I think September had barely flat lined for two months... it’s up 30% since the ad

pre social media? that's the entire history of the country except the last decade. you have to be kidding. you think people didn't blame society for their lot in life before that? and you're judging my age based on when i signed up to bbi? that correlation makes as little sense your opinion. you confuse being a curmudgeon with being wise.

Whatever little boy; I'm done with you. It's now time for you to continue to ask for your handout and for your mommy to take you to your regularly scheduled therapist session so you can talk thru how the Peloton commercial causes you feel bad about yourself.

Predictable response from a wannabe tough guy. I’m sorry life has left you miserable. Wish you the best moving forward.
You may be right but I didn't hear any of the backlash to the add til it was revealed she lost all of four pounds on this year long journey. Then it seemed to me the uproar was coming from many places about a slew of things to do with the add.
Personally I don't see the benefit to Peleton in having anyone chronicle a year long journey where they only lost four pounds.
First of all it didn't seem to me she needed any weight loss but more than that if they had someone who really needed to lose weight and chronicled their journey, I think it would've been a better selling point for their bike.
Or tightening her twat after her second childbirth.
Nothing sexist or misogynistic about that, is there?
With my wife, if I want to be sure the gift will be used and appreciated, you're 100% correct, so long as they are made by Dyson and Miele.
