My first Giants game was a cold December day in 1996 against the New Orleans Saints. I will never forget til the day that I die, my uncle standing up and starting a "REEVES MUST GO" chant. Well, our section caught on....followed by our neighboring sections. Before you know it, he had what felt like 3/4 of the stadium chanting the same. At the time I had no idea what was going on, but boy was it awesome.
Needless to say, following the final game of that season Reeves was canned. I will forever attribute that to my Uncles chant (and the fact they were pretty bad).
For those of you going to the game on Sunday, can we start something similar for Shurmur? Maybe something like this will make all of our Giant Christmas wishes come true....him gone.
LOL!! This is true!
Perhaps the Dolphins fans in attendance will help out and join in.
lol. You've gotten pretty feisty the last few weeks.
As it would turn out, the Handley led Giants jumped all over the Chiefs, going up 35-7 and the fans were stunned because we came there to boo.
Anyway, I suppose I could cross out the Ray for Pat, Handley to Shurmur, and change '93 to '20 and see how that goes.
Whoever shows up for the last game can chant at the owners, GM and the coaches that day.
But I won't be there so who am I to say what the suckers who bought PSLs should do
If someone is loud enough, it will likely echo off the tin can walls and drab grey seats. Such is Meh Life.
lol
Now back to weeping.
They have always been a good crowd base, but they are feeling it this season!
And spare me "I want to see Eli one more time" bullsh-t.
Stand by the parking lot where the players enter and thank him there. And then leave.
Rather than "Fire Shurmur", how about:
"Sell The Team! Sell The Team! Sell The Team!" ?
Yeah, I remember that, that was pretty good.
Musta been hard for to realize her hubby bubby was catching/receiving at one of the NJ Turnpike Rest-stops too...
Celebrate the day for Eli and give an MVP chant to our 2 timer.
Or just salute Eli Sunday as you should
Yup, and it still fits!
The weather is supposed to be nice (for a change) on Sunday, so I'm going to go with my sons, who have only known Eli as the QB (up until this year), so this will be their chance to see him one final time. The game will have all the intensity of a pre-season game, but whatever. I actually think the Giants will win on Sunday and ruin any shot at #1, but I think they will still get the #2 pick even beating Miami.
Gettleman's got to go!
Ho Ho / Hey Hey
I couldn't yell that more than once without a lozenges break
but I'll chip in for a flyover banner
Quote:
That "Ray Must Go" t-shirt is gold.
Yup, and it still fits!

Matt,
If I remember correctly Banks had a great day and he was playing with out LT.

Tell me if anyone remembers this shirt from the parking lot, I wish I had a picture of it. It was from around, or a little before 1980. It said "I'm a Giants Fan", and it had a picture of a guy crying in his beer. I think it cost me 7 bucks. I tore it up when they won SB21.
Fuck the fans! How would you like it if someone came to your place of work and chanted "Fire Lazy Show!" at the top of their drunk-ass lungs? As Bill Polian once said, "If you listen to fans, pretty soon you'll be sitting with them."
Guys, not the several who get it...but COME ON MAN!
I really enjoy the NY Giants organization as it represents a certain class, bedrock of NFL enterprise. Wellington wanted shared revenues as he saw the bigger picture, yada yada.
Yes it sucked for last 6-7 years. But this is a classic gold franchise and always will be.
PS is gone. Let it go. Bad coaching. We will get it turned around ...whenever but we will.
Would the greatest face of the franchise boo and chant "Fire Shurmur?" Hell no and neither should we.
Ownership may not be as astute as some others and not have a Tier 1 organization right now. But I am convinced they care about winning...big time..the NY market will always be critical to NFL revenue success so we will always have a little NFL assistance tailwind to get NY Giants as solid franchise (remember G Young move by Rozelle)
Let's enjoy the process...even if it takes a few more years. As someone who endured the 15 YEARS OF LOUSY FOOTBALL, all of it, as a younger lad, you can't be a true fan unless you ride the lows and the highs ....
Enjoy your life and the drama of being a NY Giants fan through thick and thin...with class and perspective.
Let's not degenerate to the mob of the Colisseum mentality. It's not gonna help and only degrade our own lives...
I have had jobs that weren't great fits for me. Let's not attribute ill will, corporate greed, gross negligence, and malfeasance to FO, Ownership, Coaches etc....shit happens.
Coughlin was so right in that "It's not how many times you fall down, but how many you get back up!" Let's heed those words as we enjoy the next upcycle...it's coming. Sure as the sun rising in the East..
Happy Holidays all.
Soap box sermon over...
Look across at the premiere league. Tottenham, a big 6 club was faltering. They fired their beloved manager just shy of 1/2 through the season citing poor results for roughly a year of play. They've won 4 out of 6 matches since with a Manager who barely knows his squad.
Everything is faster these days. Your internet is faster, you get your information faster, Amazon delivers your package faster. The approach ownership is taking is outdated.
Same team, different times. You can still treat with class and dignity, and move with the expediency of the modern world.
John, exactly my sentiments. He's a good guy; just not a good HC. Let the man go with dignity.
No love for the "Goodbye Allie" song? I think that was the original in this category.

i think it was Pepper actually (I have the game on tape, I can go back and check). I know Hampton went off, he had 3 TDs in the game.
They have always been a good crowd base, but they are feeling it this season!
I have always found that somewhat small and petty to mock your opponent with their own chants, it’s not enough t9 just celebrate your win, you have to rub your opponents nose in it?
Do you know what are the brother's responsibilities?
Quote:
"Fire your brother" would be much more effective and to the point of the problems with this team.
Do you know what are the brother's responsibilities?
All I can go by is 1) What the team claims his title is and 2) the fact that the team is on record with a "committee" approach to the roster.
Chris Mara is Senior Vice President of Player Personnel. Well, since he took that role, our player personnel have sucked. And since 2017, this team is literally worst in the NFL. You tell me if any other "President of Player Personnel" would still have that position in another organization with that kind of record. If his name weren't Mara he'd have been canned with Reese and Ross.
Most of these guys weren't even born before 1969. I remember "Goodbye Allie" very well.
Shurmur needs to go but I couldn’t imagine getting all pumped up to chant about wanting him fired.

In other words, you don't know.
But since his name is Mara, he must suck at his job. He was Vice President of Player Evaluation in 2003 and promoted to Senior Vice President of Player Personnel in 2011. The Giants won 2 Superbowls in that timeframe. Just admit that you and the other experts here don't have a clue as to who does what in the organization, just like me.
Shurmur sucks is better. Plus, that way you are not taking a man's job but instead pointing out a fact
Between cheering for losses and making plans to be public assholes to a guy who is likely already getting fired, I have no idea where the joy in football for you lies.
And spare me "I want to see Eli one more time" bullsh-t.
Stand by the parking lot where the players enter and thank him there. And then leave.
This I agree with.
(2) What the heck is wrong in any way, shape or form with saying that you're going to the game to see Eli play? The seeming distain for a two time SB champion eludes me. Your kid has only had Eli at QB for his lifetime and you want to take him to possibly his last game? What's wrong with that? A bunch of snarky people on BBI. SMH

What a moronic post. By your logic, none of us should ever post any opinion on these forums, because we don't know what's going on in the organization. Hey, Bettcher might be a Bill Belichick level genius, but the players just aren't getting it. Or Shurmur might be messing with his game plans. We don't know, right? Can't criticize him! Or maybe Beckham had legitimate points while he was here about the state of the team. Do you know him? I don't! Can't criticize him! If you take your post seriously, do us all a favor and stop posting since you "don't know".
As far as Mara goes, if you think he got that job in 2003 because he was legitimately the most qualified for the job, then I don't really know what to say to you. We did win 2 Superbowls with him in the lesser position, but none since. Clearly something happened to the team - and its personnel - once he was promoted. And my point stands, anybody else in that position NOT named Mara would've been fired with Reese and Ross.
