want:
CIN over NE
DET over TB
WAS over PHI
JAC over OAK
ARI over CLE
LAR over DAL (to help with tiebreaks)
ATL over SF
The quick summary is:
Giants at 2-14 pick #1 if CIN wins a game and #2 if CIN loses out. (CIN plays NE, MIA and CLE)
Giants at 3-13 pick #1 if CIN wins 2 or 3 games and #2 otherwise, with a very small possibility that they would have to pick behind MIA too.
Giants at 4-12 possibilities range from #1 (requires CIN to win out) to #7.
And for completeness, Giants at 5-11 possibilities range from #2 to #9, with #9 requiring a very unlikely tiebreak.
1. CIN 1-12 clinched picking behind NYG in case of a tie
2. NYG 2-11
3. WAS 3-10 clinched picking behind NYG in case of a tie
4. MIA 3-10 ##
5. DET 3-9-1*
6. ARI 3-9-1*
7. JAC 4-9 #
8. ATL 4-9 clinched picking behind NYG in case of a tie
9. NYJ 5-9 ##
DEN, CAR and LAC are 5-8 but have clinched picking behind NYG
## almost certainly pick behind NYG in case of a tie.
# likely to pick behind NYG in case of a tie
* NYG or DET or ARI would have to play a tie game for this tie to occur
Skins beat the eagles
Detroit beats tampa
Arizona beats cleveland
if those 3 things happen (all the teams we need to win our home in potential winnable games)
we will lock the #2 pick down with two games to play. So basically even if we beat the skins and eagles we would be 4-12 but would basically win every tiebreaker vs anyone at 4-12 at that point.
That would be a dream come true to lock the #2 pick this week. Which is a possibility.

That's a good post. I do consider the JAC tiebreak to be not
quite done yet. There would have to be 6 more wins picked up
in a Giants set of 14 games than a JAC set of 16 games, or something close to that. Like being 6 games back with 15
left to play, I think.
I have confidence that Flores will have his team ready to rock and roll for the second week in a row in Northern Jersey. They must feel robbed after last week. Skins on deck for next week are playing better too.
Root for them to beat Miami and Cleveland and I will take a final home win for Eli Sunday.
what do you mean by "inside track"?

And we beat Miami, we still have the inside track to the 2nd pick, correct?

Assuming he means tiebreakers

Hell no, I could care less about everyone wanting to see Eli win one more for sentimental value... We need to land the only blue chip player coming out. I've seen the only 2 Eli Manning wins that matter and we aren't getting another one of those ever again with E at the helm. Time to move on bud,
2-11 can become 5-11, at least in theory...

I want Chase badly too but he's not the only blue chip prospect coming out... idk if I've ever once seen a draft where that's the case.
Don't want to see it, and it's unlikely, but definitely in the realm of possibility.
Hopefully Miami brings their A+ game Sunday, which would help A LOT.
But in week 16, ATL and JAX play each other. Meaning, a Jax win this week on the road vs Oakland might be the biggest game to us. A win there, and an Atlanta win at home vs Jax would be enormous.
...this weekend.

Yes, we still have the inside track, but would need to lose to Wash next week. If you assume Cinn and Mia want QBs (big assumptions), then we only have to stay ahead of Wash. We would of course need to lose the last PHL game as well. Not really looking good, even with the inside track, if we beat Mia tomorrow.
There is this assumption the the Bengals are definitely taking Burrow, but I could definitely see them taking Young.
If that happens, trade back for a haul.
Possible, but not probable as some of the history above states. Chase is currently not rated high enough that would force Cinn's hand.
The real question is, would Mia take the 2nd QB if they were picking ahead of NYG.

In this scenario, if the Giants beat MIA and WAS, it doesn't matter what WAS does in their other games. The Giants would pick ahead of WAS even if WAS lost their other games, so WAS beating PHI wouldn't be necessary.
I know easier said then done

But isn’t there still an excellent chance that the Bengals take Young with the number one pick???

I could too. If Young is this great a prospect, AND you have to factor in he plays right up the road at Ohio State.
Not a chance in hell. If less than zero % was possible then it would be less than zero % chance. Anyone who says otherwise doesn't know anything. I'll go back to another post I made about this...they haven't had a true franchise QB they could win with since Esiason. It's been about 30 years, they aren't passing on a franchise QB. It absolutely will not happen. If they drafted Chase Young, that fan base should burn the stadium to the ground.
Disgrace for Chase
