he sat on the bench for three years of his college career.
He ha doubts if he could ever start as a college QB and Orgeron showed faith in him last year to give him a chance and then showed even more faith in him this year to play him as a 5th year, red shirt senior.
nothing wrong IMO with someone being emotional at a time when their hard work, dedication, faith and perseverance have paid off and you want to thank the man who helped give you the chance.
Loved it. He was overwhelmed with emotion, nothing wrong with that at all..in fact when he finished Marcus Allen hugged him and said your speech was even greater than your season(which was wrong but it was still a great job by Burrow).
Also very cool of him to thank Ohio State, more than once, he went over and hugged Ryan Day(among about 15 others) before going up to accept.
Broke OJs record for largest voting margin which stood since 1968.
Johnny Burrow is an American hero. He's one of the men who have made NSWC Dahlgen one of the greatest research and development labs in the country. Our military is a force to be reckoned with because of this man.
The other QB's everyone wanted for this year have fallen somewhat. Is he the real deal? Looks like we could have our pick of last years big QB's this year. Think the Giants stay with Jones though. I think they've seen enough to like what they've seen. I know this has been discussed plenty. You just never know from year to year.
I read an article on JB yesterday that said he never took a class on Â
LSUs campus this year ... he was a grad student in Lib Arts who’s class load was all independent study and online courses. It makes me wonder how much of an advantage this was vs his peers .... now I know there’s a lot of college players who don’t study much anyway... but contrast this with a guy like DJ and many others who had a real academic load in addition to football. Just something else to think about in evaluating players.
I don't know what your point is, but I'm pretty sure (for Burrow) his evaluation shouldn't change at all because of his class load or location while he gets his masters.

Agreed.
And what do you know about SEC class requirements?
We can have a separate thread on admission and study requirement differences among teams and conferences.
JB is obviously a smart guy ... my only point is that he was Â
able to focus almost entirely on football this year compared to many peers this year and past who also managed course loads ... maybe it’s apples and kumquats but it’s another variable in evaluating his upside potential vs others ...including our own DJ.
Pretty sincere if you ask me. From the heart
What a road traveled to get to the Heisman and become a high draft choice. Seems like a great kid, with a great family, and blue skies ahead...

I wouldn't blink in taking him if I am the Bengals... Best QB prospect since Andrew Luck and from Ohio
