That’s the full quote.

Well, an Eagles team full of backups and practice squad players just kicked the shit out of the Giants.

What a poetic way for a loser like Shurmur to go out.
Yup

Good riddance take Gettleman with you
The head coach of this team should be an OC.

That was probably a last ditch effort to save his job and pin blame on DG, which is derserved. And then he gets embarrassed at home against a team full of practice squad players. Another indictment in his coaching ability
He's not completely wrong

Halapio being a main culprit today - he really shouldn't be anywhere near a starting roster.

Maybe this time the team will invest in a real professional center

nailed it. Unfortunately, too many drink the Kool Aid that Gettleman has stocked our shelves with really good players.

Until our 2nd wCo weenie coach with a playsheet stuck to his face again got in a play late resulting in a fumble.

Imagine coming to a team whose bright future included future stars like Eli Apple and Eric Flowers. Whose best player was easily a 40 year old QB with a massive contract. I don't really give a shit what happens to Gettleman...but he was in a terrible position. We'd have been better off as an expansion team then where Reese left us.
Shurmur is definitely gone
Bramton1 : 12/29/2019 7:46 pm : link
He's bashing Gettleman. Probably doesn't care anymore cause he knows he's gone. But probably trying to a rgue that if he's gone, DG should be as well.

Gettleman went all in on Eli. That's a big reason why he was hired. So he made his bed...

Was hired and tried to do his best out of a situation of bad contracts and ineffective players.

He can weed out more like Halapio and Ogletree next.

why PS is not HC material.

Way to go to build up the confidence of the players you will go to war with the next Sunday!

He inherited a team a year removed from 11 wins.

And Eli was 40 when he got here? The only way to support that position is to age him prematurely?

HE TRADED FOR OGLETREE

While I admit that Shurmur has made some horrible moves this year I'm in the camp that wants DG gone and Shurmur back. DG raided the kitchen and left nothing but JAG's - Shurmur seems to have improved thoughout the year (I'll offer up the bootlegs today as proof) and the team hasn't quit on him. He's going to make someone a pretty good coach or coordinator

Okay..Eli was...36? But he moved like he was 50. The 11 win team was filled with BRUTAL contracts like Vernon's and Snacks. So no, that's not the only way to support that position.

He's the one responsible for Ogletree in the first place.

And I guess Shurmur knows he's gone and is making the case that Gettleman gave him trash to work with. And he's not wrong.

The funny thing is I don't think even the Gettleman defenders are drinking that Kool Aid. Its more like, "Hey, these two top 6 players he picked may not suck." The bar is low.

+1

Not a popular opinion but agree with you 100%...I'm with you...in the camp the should bring back Shurmur for the simple fact that the team played hard...and never quite...more importantly he has done an outstanding job of developing Daniel Jones...and want that development to continue...and feel both Daniel & Saquon will both make big jumps next year...if they can find a way to overhaul the OL with better more physical players..

As far as Gettleman...not a fan...agree he has solid draft...his management of free agency has been a disaster...and he has let go too many veteran players without having adequate replacements...basically threading water...

This was a guy who played for the Brooklyn Bolts in 2015 and here he was in 2018 and this year as our starting center. And this organization was very high on him, terrible

Shurmur is a trash HC. always was. Never will be again. He’s got NO pelts on his wall. DG has at least some good moments as a GM and even more good moments as a front office exec. Shurmur did no favors for anyone linked to the giants this season. He elevated nothing and no one.

Conveniently left off suoerstar Odell Beckham and all pro Landon Collins pro bowler Jason Pierre Paul among others he chose to move.
