Gettleman, from his own words, wasn't involved with the firing of Pat Shurmur. That was strictly coming from Ownership. DG is in no position to object to BB coming, and why should he? I'm sure BB and DG know each other, and working together won't be an issue.

Kraft in NE was in a quandry...he has NO QB if Brady leaves, and why should Brady stay if McDaniels is hired somewhere else? The best way for Kraft to keep Brady is to give the HC position to McDaniels. And my impression is that Kraft would much prefer to keep Tom Brady than keep Bill.

The only words from Mara and Tisch should be “yes sir” and “right away sir.” If he wants. DG our or marginalized, it is done. If he wants Mara and Tisch chasing frisbees at halftime during home games, you do it.

It’s fun to dream but I don’t think this happens. But agree you have to put in a call and see if there is any possibility.

Brady is a free agent, can't be franchised. It's not up to Belichick to resign Brady, Brady needs to WANT to come back. IMO, he won't come back if McDaniels leaves.

Brady would come back to the Pats if they’ll have him, I think. The question is whether Belichick wants to try it with Brady instead of going with a younger QB, I can also easily see Belichick leave and Mcdaniels elevated to Pats head coach.

Fresh start without any history of butting heads with ownership, even if diplomatic (there are reports that Kraft and Bill disagreed on Brady/JG) Potential to grow legacy beyond one franchise. Affinity for Giants. Young QB, young roster and a cleaner cap.

moespree : 1/5/2020 12:46 am : link
To think Kraft would do anything to get Brady to stay and the most likely way to do that is by ensuring they don't lose McDaniels and making him the coach. Problem is if BB is not out of a contract I can't possibly see him firing him. How do you possibly justify dumping BB to ensure 43 year old Tom Brady plays one more year for your team? You can't justify that.

Pure speculation but I think some assurances had to be made to McDaniels for him to walk away from the Colts job and those assurances get messier now that Bills kid is a rising star in the coaching ranks.

BB's contract situation is not known so the question of compensation is not relevant right now.

Contract or not, would Kraft allow BB to leave? Will McDaniels be named HC? Will Brady stay in NE? All questions that can lead to BB separating from NE.

There is only one team BB would coach if he left the Patriots and tha team happens to have a HC vacancy.

Improbable? Yes. Impossible? No!

Don't want to get my hopes up, but it would be the best thing that could happen, it would bring out all supporters and the excitement would be over the top. The Parcells era with LT was the best era we ever had, 5 seasons in 8 with 10 or more wins a 6th with 9, 3 of those with 12, 13, and 14 in the regular season. Every game was exciting from 1984, only 1987 was disappointing with the strike ruining the season.

It is now or never. Things have aligned better than they ever will again.

Any of you make it stop people will get your wish if it does not happen this year. That said, they would be foolish to ignore the possible alignment.

What alignment?

Bill is believed to be an FA
Brady may be leaving. The Pats may be in decline.
Patriots have a successor (McDaniels) in place.
Bill still has a couple of years left in the tank.
Bill son is a couple of years away from HC and he may want to set his son up with a gig.

Giants have a vacancy
Bill is out of the playoffs early so they will not have to wait on him and miss out on other opportunities.
Giants have some young talent that Bill is known to like
It is believed that Bill likes the Giants organization

If it does not happen this year I, for one, will put it to bed.
