Said it on Cowherd...
McCarthy apparently "couldnt do that".
Did the Giants dodge a bullet or lost out on a guy they wanted?
My gut says if they really wanted him, they wouldnt have let him leave without a contract.
Some gamesmanship by the Giants.... Rushing JJ into a decision?

I'm honestly warming up to the idea of Garrett.
Players respect and play hard for him.
Former QB, helps Daniel Jones.
Will hire a good staff.
And I'd be interested to see him in a different environment than Dallas.
My one question, who made the decision to hire the young OC..........him, or did that directive come from somewhere else?

That's a lot of chips in that basket right now.
I swear you're Eric or gidies dupe.
Because that's the only logical reason you're still allowed to post here. To generate clicks with your keyboard diarrhea
You’re an idiot of epic proportions.
Nothing more, nothing less.
Nothing more, nothing less.
or he just jumped at a hefty offer considering he didnt have any last yhear
Agreed... wouldnt even bother with McDaniels interview unless Rhule isnt willing to commit on the spot.
Nothing more, nothing less.
Yep, and I think that fits McCarthy a bit better than here.
It's very similar to what he inherited at Green Bay, established QB and talented roster.
Nothing more, nothing less.
No. Rhule has been #1 Target all along, the 2nd interview for McCarthy was the "due diligence/back-up plan" if Rhule is a no go. It's very obvious.
Nothing more, nothing less.
Or the Giants werent ready to make him an offer
Ya know for years I feared after Eli we would be in for a long ride on the QB carousel, looks like we've managed to avoid that.. and jumped on the coaching carousel instead. Fantastic.

um....what? for all we know its the giants who dont want MM or rivera. why does it have to be other way around. i think its very clear at this poiont rhule is target #1. until we hear that candidate X that we really liked turned down the job, your argument holds NO WATER. the giants are a desired job....we just didnt desire those candidates over rhule who we have yet to interview

McCarthy chose the team with the better talent in place. A team he thinks can compete right away for big prizes.

Maybe. But I'm talking about from MM's perspective since he wasn't going to take the follow-up interview with the Giants...
It would be nice to have an ownership group/front office that was this sinister.
That guy is Rhule, not McCarthy.
LOL. No elaboration. Beyond the scope of this fucking moron.

Even if there was a hefty offer, which doesn't hurt, I still think he got handed a pretty good situation to hit the ground running.
for all giants have their eye on rhule and were will to lose MM because they liked rhule much more...

he absolutely did. my point was, it isnt gauranteed to be the sole reason. he could have flat out just wanted to be in dallas vs NY. idc either way, i didnt want him but my point is this doesnt diminish the giants job or make it less desirable and this is proof
I'm of the opinion that NYG all along wanted to go young program builder with HC experience. They had Rhule in mind all along, and are probably pissed they didn't try to hire him in 2018.
I'd be extremely happy with Rhule, and still somewhat happy with McDaniels.

I'm assuming you're talking about Rivera & McCarthy... how do you know they were the Giants 2 top candidates?
Nothing more, nothing less.
All we know is that Dallas made an offer to McCarthy and he chose to accept. He most likely left NY without an offer; and he can read reports like the rest of us that the Giants prefer Rhule.
To me there is no evidence that the respective talent level of the two teams was the deciding factor.

If it’s what we wanted why did we want a 2nd interview? How do we know we didn’t want Rivera either? Skins and Dallas signed their guys on the spot. Same could happen with Rhule, doesn’t mean it will, but it’s not in our hands.

The top 2 candidates are still available.

Would you take a 2nd interview with a potential employer, no guarantees, and leave a confirmed job offer?

Now watch the young program builder say NO...I am going back to Baylor...Absolute management ineptitude!!!!
Giants aren't going to cry about losing out on Ron Rivera. He's a good coach, but they've wanted Rhule above all others anyway. It didn't matter.
The top 2 candidates are still available.
Yup

McCarthy going to Dallas. Blank check from Jerry and a talented roster. No income tax in Texas. He's almost 60...this is his last stop as a HC most likely.

Rivera wasn't hired on the spot. There were discussions going on for several weeks.
Just do a little basic fucking research. The news in Charlotte discussed Rivera's interest in Washington and that he was talking with them right after being let go:
According to Rivera, that tape, which spanned across many games, showed him a collection of players who battled. That stood out to him, particularly in a lost season. So then he started having more serious discussions with Dan Snyder.
The Giants are overthinking and slow to act, everyone on this board has Rhule hired before his 1st interview. Both Dallas and the Skins hired their guys on the spot. No 2nd interview was needed with McCarthy. He met with THE people here, it wasn’t a set of ladder interview. The guy has won 130 games and a SB. If you want a 2nd interview it means you wanna hire him, so make an offer. There are 0 other competent reasons to have wanted to meet with him again. His resume is on film.
