but I do like the way he has been handling questions. I like how he answered Moose.

If the interview with Joe Judge didn't go so well, would that have changed your approach to Rhule?

JM answer: That's a fair thing to say. Yes we would probably try to move some numbers around but we still have to make good business decisions

Paraphrasing of course.

Wide Right?

She's a Bills fan and says she has no hate for the Giants but she does seem to take a negative view on just about everything Giants related.

I like her on the radio too, and think she's a real good listen on pretty much everything else. I know she says she has no Giants bias but her takes on them say otherwise even if unintentional.

she's basically the female Evan Roberts without the wrestling obsession.

She doesn't hate the Giants and she's not biased. She hasn't liked a lot of their moves, but was generally positive about the Judge hire. Regarding the negativity, so has most of the media for the past few years, and the Giants have been abysmal. Maybe it's less bias and more accuracy?

I heard that and was really hoping for a follow-up question..."Seeing as you're so dead-set on building through the draft, how could you let Gettleman throw away a 3 and a 4/5 at a pending UFA interior DL?"

Why because she says she doesn't hate them?

Again, I'm a fan of hers but have ears and it's pretty clear to me there's something going on there. I know there hasn't been many positives to chime in on but she takes every chance she can get to accent negatives and IMO takes a big of joy in doing so.

Let's take yesterday for example, she wasn't totally negative but kept pounding the point she wanted to hear some of why the Giants made Judge their man from his presser.

Then today when she got what she wanted, instead of being positive about that and making it, I don't know at least a main talking point like she did yesterday about how she needed to hear it, she immediately shifts to how he didn't say anything about Jones.

She goes on to play clips from the other three hires and their comments about their QB's and gets on Judge for not commenting.

She didn't even give him the benefit on the doubt on his position of wanting to get more info on all his players first and instead ripped him a bit saying you played them this year and surely had some info and could share.

It's surprising to me because I've always thought she was a good listen and had a fair reasonable take on most things. I've had Jets fans friends who've noticed her takes on the Giants as well so it's not just me who thinks she's got some bias here.

Maybe that's what the Giants meant by using both free agency and the draft to build, since acquiring Williams long term will require the use of both free agency AND multiple draft picks!

Moose is a Skins fan but at least he comes across as objective when it comes to the Giants IMO.

I wish I could say the same for Maggie because I really do like her. She was the only one worth listening to on CMB but for whatever reason she' doesn't seem to be as objective when it comes to the Giants.

The rest? Ehh, its radio, its entertainment and they have to fill air time. As long as she isn't making up things out of thin air or accusing people of something that she knows isn't true (like Manish Mehta) then I don't mind at all.
The Michael Kay show is just as biased against the Giants as she is.

It's weird, but cool to know even with this franchise being awful for several years that they can still make some folks butt-hurt. Nothing wrong with that.

What? We're only listening to sports talk radio so we can hear NYG company shills tout the company line? Dottinos 24/7? Even if she does have a bias (guess I don't listen enough), if she's up front about it, so what? We've had so much pablum thrown at us about this franchise in the last 8 years.

Calling her the female Even is a reasonable take: she's articulate enough (and I like the sound of her voice) and gives reasoned points of view, and she's reasonably well informed, unlike some of the weekend or midday thugs WFAN has recently hired.
I took a few days off last week

Maggie was horrible. I like Moose.

I don't need a talk radio host to slobber over the Giants moves but be fair, be somewhat objective and be intellectually honest. Maggie is none of those things based on what I heard last week.

That's because you guys take any criticism of the Giants to be some massive negative conspiracy against the team.

News flash - they've been absolute shit for the past 3 years. They've been to one playoff game in 8 years. There are a LOT of negative things to say about this team, because they stink.

I didn't listen for hours, but I heard her point about Judge and Jones. It was fair, and she didn't harp on it. She said that she was surprised Judge had nothing to say, as he claimed as ST coach he used to scout all the players in the draft, and the Patriots played against the Giants this year. She figured that based on that, he would at least have something to say about him.

Not exactly ripping them because she's still butthurt over XXV.

I didn't have a problem with his answer either. No reason to put anything in print before you've had a chance to do a full eval. She seemed to pick at the fact that he didn't just give him some generic praise, but she didn't exactly hammer him for that either. She also didn't suggest that there was something there, that maybe Judge didn't like Jones. That is what someone with a real ax to grind against an org would have done.

The Pats ST question from last week's game was just stupid, and was handled appropriately.
I think is Maggie is okay
moespree : 1/10/2020 12:23 pm : link
So far though, I think she was better in the afternoon. I don't sense much chemistry with Malusis, but stranger than that, her personality has been a bit different since she started the midday show. She's been much more aggressive with callers, almost Francesa like sometimes. While I wouldn't say she is anti-Giants, there does appear to be some form of agenda with them. Knowing nothing about Joe Judge she decided to mock and trash it as the news broke live during her show. She even regurgitated the whole "he's just a WR coach" media line that intentionally ignored his almost 10 years as a ST coach.

I agree with you about the Mehta part and the entertainment part too.

I guess I've just been bummed at her negative take on the Giants because I am a fan of hers and didn't expect it. I expected her to be more balanced in her takes like she usually is but for whatever reason it isn't coming across that way to me.

To me it's one of those things once you notice it's hard not to keep noticing. That's how it's been recently for me and hopefully it's shifts more to a more objective take.

It's got nothing to do with some type of negative conspiracy against them or thinking she's butt hurt, which I don't think she is.

I do think she's not being genuine about not disliking them though because to my ears her constantly taking the approach she is says otherwise.

As far as yesterday and today about Jones, you missed my point. It was about how yesterday she made a huge deal of what she wanted to hear and it was the focus of a good part of the show. Then today when she got what she wanted, she glossed right over that and on to her perceived negative on not talking about Jones.

I have no doubt had he not come across as well or shown his personality like she wanted, it would've been the main focus today.

IMO, it would've been more fair and balnced to spend some time on how he did says the things she was looking to hear, and then going on to something else.

That's all, no big deal and again it's not about being mad because she's negative about the Giants, it's because unlike Moose she is too one sided with her Giants takes IMO. I can take her criticisms because they have been shit recently but when they do something right, she seems to try hard to find a negative in that too.

It's similar to liking Francessa but not being able to take him interviewing guests and talking all over their answers or how he tried to answer for them.

I still liked him and thought he had some great insights on some things but found his interviewing style cringe worthy.

Maggie's Giants takes aren't cringe worthy to me, just becoming entirely predictable in their always being glass half empty type of way.

The wrestling thing must crawl up your asshole sideways. Evan is the most well rounded knowledgeable sports talk show host we have here locally. He occasionally sprinkles in some pro wrestling references which happens to be a billion dollar industry with millions of fans but you and your high horse refuse to accept that. Comparing Maggie to Evan is like comparing Pat Shurmur to Bill Parcells. Go piss up a rope.
