I think most of us heard this the other day. Now the Giants put out this article this morning reiterating what we heard in passing a couple days ago. My question is this: Eli already said he wasn’t interested in coaching or being a backup QB. In what capacity can you see the Giants keeping him as part of the organization?

Is he an extra-terrestrial?
That’s a great thought
I recall mishandling of Simms being released.
Think Mara would like a pleasant happy ending if possible. Eli being involved with the organization and charity event as an example of one portion of a role.
Plus it's his and Tisch's team. If they want to key Eli attached to it they can.
Then put him in the ring of honor and bring him back in an Ambassador type role

Sounds like your (and Bungle’s) mystifying personal issues. As noted above, so long as his contract is not on the payroll and as long as he’s not supplanting DJ (which is improbable), his presence doesn’t hurt the giants. Your panting wish for feudal banishment is exceedingly infantile and just plain dumb. Eli is a non-issue, no matter what they do with him.
I said yesterday that they could create a position for him in their Community Relations Dept. (which is run by Frank "Zeppo" Mara), but a charitable foundation in his name would indeed be awesome.
I can't recall where I read it, but I do remember reading something about Eli wanting to stay in the area, at least while his children are still very young. Speculation, even if he had an offer to play elsewhere, why he didn't want to uproot his family.
No, they’re going to make nice until Eli a) retires or b) signs with a team looking to start a 39 year old quarterback. Since there’s only a few situations where b might even apply, I would think Eli announces a after the Super Bowl and the Giants bring him back in some kind of advisor/PR role if he wants at some point.

I wouldn’t expect the Giants to put out an article about it.
hamstrung us since 2016? you realize the 2016 team went to the playoffs and that eli was the only one on offense who showed up for the playoff game in lambeau, right? his 2016 was fine
In NY or NO... name recognition is obviously there, good rep, not a hint of scandal/controversy, experienced with the media... etc.
Simple as that.
Lol go figure...

I don't think too many of us thought that "winning would follow" when Eli was replaced by a rookie QB. We just knew it was time to transition away from a QB who hadn't played well in years and cost the team over $20M per season.
I wish Eli well in whatever he chooses to pursue next year.

err- better to ask Kraft?
My apologies.
